A light sigh escaped Kaden's lips as he trodded through the snow. His thoughts were in such a turmoil. Everything that was going on around was filled with such drama, and he was caught up in the midst of it. And, frankly, it sucked. Most of the problems that he had were problems of the heart. He didn't love anybody. At least....he didn't think he did. But the way everything was going....his heart hurt slightly every time he saw Xio with Evan...with his best friend. And he felt...peaceful...calm...everything just felt right when he was around his best friend. And he already knew he liked his best friend more than a friend. He really did enjoy being around Evan...and he admitted, perhaps only to himself, that he found the boy very attractive. And he knew that he had crossed the line of simply being friends upon many occasions.
And there was so much more. Like his situation with Parker. Another guy that Kaden happened to like, although he thought it was more just lust....or he thought so anyways. He had been with several other people but....being with Parker...felt...different. He couldn't explain it, but something was different with Parker, and it confused him. Not to mention the guy actually confessed that he liked him. As in...liked him. More than simple friendship, more than lust, presumably. And he didn't know what to do about that. He didn't want to lie and say that he felt the same, because he didn't. Or...he didn't think he did. It was all just so confusing. All the drama with guys. Of course it had to happen to him, didn't it? Of all people.
Another sigh escaped his lips before his light voice could be heard, a soft Italian voice drifting across the lawns as he sang a ditty he liked, and learned, when he was a child. He sung it now, his voice, one that often sang, cracking slightly as he thought again of his horrid situation. He sighed and abandoned the attempts as he trudged down towards the lake. He was from a more southern country, from Italy, and the cold bothered him....but he really didn't feel it at the moment. The cold that usually bothered him just seemed to disappear at that time. Sure, it was still there, but he really didn't seem to notice it.
Kaden finally arrived at the lake and sat down in front of a tree, leaning on it as he looked up at the icy blue sky. So this was only his second year at the school, but so far, it hadn't been that great. Well, up until a month ago, it had been, at least. The past month, since he had met Parker, pretty much, everything was just so confusing. It wasn't Parker's fault, of course. It was probably more of his fault, for feeling that way he did towards the two people. A groan escaped his lips and he buried his head in his hands. Gawd. School sucked.

Something was different today. He wasn't feeling any different about his position at this school, but he was willing to give it another shot. Parker was just tired of being surrounded by pain and suffering. Everytime he opened up and tried to get close to someone it blew up in his face. What was up with that? Kaden had even told him that he slept with Tia not very long ago. Sure, they weren't together, but Parker really cared about Kaden. Why would he want to do that to him?
Okay, so maybe he shouldn't be thinking it's all about him. Kaden never professed having the same feelings for him. That made things even harder. Parker decided he was going to go down to the grounds and take a run around the lake. A little exercise made everything better as far as he was concerned. Something about the endorphines did that to you. At least that's what he read in some book once.
Parker broke into a slight jog, while he made his way around the long bend towards the lake. He wasn't sure if running would take his mind of things this time. It felt like everywhere he tried to go, pain and suffering always followed him. That was hands down a depressing thought. Maybe it had something to do with his power of empathy, but he didn't care. Parker wished he could just give up his powers right about now. Hell, he would even give up flying if it meant he would be normal.
In the distance he spotted someone. Now, if only his eyesight was as good as his ability to pick up on emotions. Whoever this person was, they sure were quite conflicted emotionally. Parker couldn't help but frown as he continued down the path. Something told him not to turn back just because someone was distressed. He pushed himself harder until he noticed who was standing in front of him. Kaden stood less than twenty feet away. It was too late to turn around now. No doubt Kaden had seen him already.
Parker froze solid as soon as he was within earshot of Kaden. "Oh. I didn't know you would be here. How are you?" Things seemed to be awkward for some reason. Was it because what happened in the last week? He frowned slightly as his eyes lingered on the other boy. "How are you doing?" Didn't that just sound like feeble attempt at making conversation? Kaden was obviously bothered by something, but things were a little weird lately. Parker imagined they both had a lot on their mind. Maybe talking about things would help, or maybe not.....
[lame. sorry.]

The last week had perhaps been one of the worst he had had. Well, besides the fact that Tia had been happy with the presents that he had gotten her for her birthday, and then what happened after that. And then had got some after that, too. But after that it went downhill once more. It all started with a game of truth or dare that Jackson just had to decide to play. Jackson asked the question. Kaden answered. For some reason or another, he didn't know why, he chose truth. Nobody ever chose truth. But for some reason...he did. And the question was a bad one. Not to mentiont he had to answer truthfully.....and in front of Parker. Who had he last had sex with? Besides Parker. And it was Tia. Both Jackson and Parker had gotten annoyed and angry. Needless to say, he felt kind of bad. But it wasn't like he was going to lie about it. That would just be rude. So Parker got pissed. And Kaden felt pretty bad. Not that he did it, because there was nothing to feel bad about it there, but just the fact that he had to learn that fact. I mean, sure, the two never had a real relationship or anything, it was just sex. Well, on the part of Kaden, anyways. It wasn't like they were dating. But something had just tugged on his heart, knowing it was bad to say.
A groan escaped his somewhat thin lips once more. Drama sucked. Bigtime. Looking over at the lake, a song came to his head. One by one of his favorite bands, and a favorite song. Skeptics and True Believers by The Academy Is... was the song to come to mind. He didn't know why it appeared, but it did. And, as was his nature, he immediately started to sing it, as the cold around him enveloped the young boy. "Don't be so scared, we will not lead you on like you've been doing for weeks." He continued to sing the song when, as he finished singing the end of the chorus; "Would you believe me if I said I didn't need you?"; he heard someone approaching.
Having enhanced senses, that of hearing, seeing, smelling, and even strength, could be good at times, such as these. He could hear when one was approaching from quite a ways off. The same went for seeing and even smelling. So, he identified quickly the person that was approaching at a bit of a rapid pace. It was Parker. Of all the people to appear in front of him, it had to be one of the people that he was thinking about. Not that he particularly minded, of course. It was times like these that he hoped a mind reader, those annoying buggers, wasn't nearby.
Kaden listened as Parker approached him, slightly slower than before, assuming that Parker had realized someone was there. Maybe even recognizing the fact that it was him. Enhanced hearing, although most of the time a good thing, could also be troublesome. You didn't want to hear that lover's quarrel in the room down the hall. Not to mention that he was generally able to hear whispered conversations, as long as they weren't super far away. And, frankly, it got annoying after a while. Sure, it was sometimes fun to frighten people when they mumbled something to themselves that couldn't be heard by the normal human, and yet he remarked about something in the mumbled sentence. Oh so much fun.
Kaden looked up as Parker stopped in front of him. He couldn't help it as a light blush covered his cheeks. As he felt that warmth coat his skin, he nearly felt like burying his head in his arms again. He didn't want to blush. And he didn't even know why he did. Blushing simply at the site of the older boy? Pathetic. And oh so confusing for the sophomore. "Well...I'm here!" He exclaimed with a grin at Parker. "I'm pretty good...how are you?" Inquiring eyes looked up at the senior, a crooked grin placed upon his lips. Perhaps it was a bit forced. The enthusiasm. Inwardly wincing, Kaden hoped that it didn't seem that way to Parker. Their situtation seemed a bit...strained. He hoped it wasn't his fault, at the very least. "I'm doing pretty good...a bit bored...but you know"[/n] It seemed that he was always bored.....if you asked Kaden, that is. And a small laugh could be heard after that statement. "How are you doing...? Oh! Have a seat....it must be a tad uncomfortable to stand..." He told the other boy, concern evident in his large brown eyes, patting a patch of grass next to him, indicating that Parker should sit there.

Wow! If this wasn't awkward. Parker bit his lip as he listened to Kaden speak. He smiled at the younger boy and his cuteness. What was it about younger men that appealed to him? "Yeah, you are here..." Was that a good thing or a bad thing? Parker wanted to think of it as a good sign, but he couldn't shake that answer to truth or dare. He never wanted to know. Kaden asked how he was. How was he? Terrible. What was he going to say? Parker wasn't going to trouble him with the truth, but he didn't want to lie either. "Glad you are doing good. I'm surviving." He smiled and gave a nod to go along with it. Sure, it was kind of obvious he wasn't doing great, but he wasn't bitching or trying to make Kaden feel bad. Parker settled for assuming that was the best he could do.
He laughed out loud at Kaden's next words. "Aren't you always bored?" Parker gave his best attempt at a joke. It was true that his friend did always seem to be bored. He chose to believe it was just a natural response for the other boy. A smile spread across his lips as Kaden laughed. Parker could easily fall in love with Kaden. Sure, he did tend to be a bit childish at times, but he did have a heart of gold.
Sighing, he slowly took a cautious seat. "Thanks. I don't mind, but I'd rather sit." Parker placed his hands behind his back and stretched out his legs. He glanced at the lake's water with a smile. Something about the water always calmed him down. Kaden was a great person and no matter what happened in the past nothing would change that. Parker felt like a jerk for holding things against Kaden when he had no reason to. Why couldn't his emotions just stay out of matters of logic? "So, why are you here?" He threw the question out more towards the lake than to Kaden. Still, he thought it was probably a better question to ask than all the rest in his mind. Parker crossed his legs and watched Kaden out of the corner of his eye. Maybe he would offer some information up on his own. He didn't want to pull it out of him.

Kaden grinned with a child like expression on his face. Kaden was often considered quite childish by his peers. His antics were thought quite childish and, considering his age, weird. Well, depending on who you asked. Some might think it cute, some might not. It just depended on the person, really. He was easily excitable, and responded to most things with great excitement. He usually over reacted, and usually gave childish answers to people. At the same time, Kaden could be...well, not childish. He could be serious when he wanted to. He could give better, not-so-childish, answers to questions and the like. And he most definitely could be less excitable. But where was the fun in that? And Kaden loved having fun, that was for sure. Kaden nodded with a grin at Parker's statement, the light blush that had warmed his cheeks before appearing again, much to Kaden's slight disdain. It was just a smile, just Parker. So why was he blushing?
A light grin appeared on his lips. "I'm glad I'm doing good, too," he replied, his grin widening. "It would be pretty suckish if I weren't." However, his mind was screaming that he wasn't good. That, instead, he was just ergh. He was so confused about everything in his life right now, how could he possibly be good? "Just surviving?" He inquired, his grin turning into a small frown. "What's wrong?" He hoped that whatever might be wrong with Parker wasn't his fault. Because if it were, he'd feel bad. He didn't want to be at fault for Parker not feeling great at the moment, or even good. He didn't want Parker to only be surviving.
Kaden grinned at Parker's slight joke. It seems Parker thought the same about him and his boredom. And he couldn't help but join slightly as he laughed. "Seems like it, doesn't it?" He replied with the same grin on his lips as before. Perhaps it just was a natural thing for him...to be bored. The smile that then spread across Parker's lips sent a tug at his heart. Not a bad one, mind you. It was pleasant...he had made Parker smile...and he felt good that he did so. It was an odd feeling, though. He hadn't felt this way before...what was this feeling, anyways? It did confuse him so. But he kept the same grin on his lips, so that his confusion wouldn't show.
A smile graced Kaden's lips as Parker sat down next to him. Something about Parker just being there..just sitting contendly made everything just feel...right. He couldn't explain the feeling, but everything just seemed so perfect at that moment, with both of them..well, somewhat happy, anyways. Unconsciously, Kaden, whose legs were before pulled against his chest with his arms around his knees, spread out into the same, or nearly the same position as Parker. Of course, he really didn't notice that he had done so. He glanced over at Parker, and, seeing the smile that graced his lips, smiled too, that light blush once again reappearing. He didn't know why it kept doing so. He never blushed. At anything. Well...except maybe Evan..but he hadn't blushed simply at Evan's smile, or even prescence, ever. So why was he doing so with Parker?
Kaden jumped slightly as Parker's voice split the silence. "Wha-" he began, startled. "Oh," he chuckled slightly at the fact that he had just let down his guard, whatever guard he had, down, and had been taken by surprise in such a fashion. "Eh...no real reason...I just..felt like coming out here..I guess..." SUch lies. He had come out here to think, mainly. And to attempt to get away from school drama. Obviously, due to the prescence of Parker, who had contributed to some of said drama, that wasn't happening. But, really, Kaden didn't mind that Parker was here. In fact, he was quite glad that the senior had appeared.

Parker smiled as he noticed Kaden's attitude change. Something felt different now that they were sitting together. What caused things to shift so quickly? It was comforting and that was all that mattered. He smiled over at his friend and reached for his hand. "I know things have been weird, but we will get through it." Sighing, he looked at Kaden in the eyes before leaning over and kissing him.
Parker's heart skipped a beat. This didn't feel the same as when he kissed Fletcher. He thought that was true love. Whatever this thing with Kaden was felt so much different. It didn't feel as serious on one hand, while on the other it felt like something had cemented itself. Nothing made sense to him anymore. He tried to be calm and rational, but logic seemed to escape him whenever Kaden was around. "I'm just surviving. What else is there to say? This week has been the most difficult week of my life." He stared off in the direction of the lake once more. Parker wasn't lying. The only two times that had been close to this difficult had been coming out, and having Emma. That was a whole different can of worms right there. He shook his head when Kaden spoke again. "Oh. I thought maybe you came here for a reason. I like to come here to jog, or clear my mind. As you noticed." He let out a small chuckle as he fell silent again. So many thoughts.
He had become almost a completely different person since he met Kaden. Parker thought about it and smiled. It wasn't a bad thing in the slightest. He felt more like himself since he started spending time with him. Things have gotten insane, but Kaden was always there to level him out. These feelings were truly becoming something he had never fully experienced before. Parker scooted closer to Kaden and rested his head on his shoulder.
"Kaden, I ...." He blushed as he tried to form the words. "I just wanted to say," a heavy sigh and blush appeared on his face. "......." Why couldn't he say anything? It was like anytime he tried to express his emotions he didn't know how to put it into words. Again, this has not happened to him before. Parker bit his lip and swallowed hard. "Uh, nevermind." He smiled as his blush deepened. Looking up, he smiled up at Kaden and wrapped his arms around him. He was more than happy to just sit here quietly in his presence.

Confusion. Disorder. Upheaval. Tumult. Chaos. Lack of clearness or distinctness. Perplexity. Bewilderment. That was, in several words, what Kaden felt at the moment about Parker. But it wasn’t quite in a bad way. He was confused, but that was okay. For the moment, anyways. Perhaps if he became more bewildered, and in a way he didn’t quite like, then maybe he would do something about it. Sure, he didn’t really like being so perplexed about everything, but it was life. There just were some things in it that were confusing, and, in time, those things would be solved, and he would no longer be confused. Such was the way of life. And it wouldn’t help to dwell on it.
As Parker smiled at him, Kaden couldn’t help but let a smile of his own appear on his lips. A sudden warm touch came in contact with his hand, and found that Parker was holding it. A light blush covered his cheeks as he noticed so, before looking up into Parker’s eyes as he spoke. Kaden nodded slightly, a small smile appearing upon his thin lips. Brown eyes gently searched Parker’s as the older boy did the same to him, before the senior leaned over and gave Kaden a kiss. Kaden wouldn’t deny the fact that Parker’s kisses were good. Great, in fact. At least in his own opinion. He was sure that not everyone felt the same way. Then again, not everyone had the luck to be able to kiss Parker. Then again, that was only his own opinion.
At the first touch of Parker’s lips to his. the light blush that had appeared on Kaden’s cheeks deepened slightly. Sure, he had kissed other guys before. Hell, he had even kissed other girls. But....for some reason...this just seemed...different. He didn’t know what the difference was, and he wasn’t quite sure if it was good or bad...it was just...different. The difference didn’t play a part in how good a kiss it was, however. So, as the slight surprise of the kiss starting faded, Kaden’s arm, the one that was furthest away from Parker, wrapped around the older boy’s neck as he kissed the senior back. Needless to say, Kaden was slightly disappointed as the cold wind hit his lips again as the kiss was broken. Kaden sat back with a slightly crooked grin set upon his lips.
A slight frown replaced the grin at Parker’s words. He could understand what the boy felt, to some extent, but it was still a sad thought. ”I’m.....sorry...?” He attempted to give an apologetic smile, because he was sure he was part of the reason he wasn’t doing great, or even good. Part of the reason that Parker was just surviving. A small sigh escaped his lips. He looked over at him with a sigh before squeezing his hand gently, attempting to comfort him in the simplest way he could at the moment. He shook his head. ”No...I just..I dunno...I guess I just felt like coming out here...?” He laughed lightly at the pathetic explanation for him being out here, but oh well. ”Ah, well that’s cool.”
Kaden hadn’t really become a different person since meeting Parker. Not really. But there had been small changes that he had noticed. Since he started...well...doing Parker, for lack of a better statement, he hadn’t done other people as much. He didn’t know why. Of course, there had been other people in the picture, as to be expected, but he seemed to be around Parker most of the time, and exchanging pleasantries more than just actually doing him. He enjoyed simple cuddling and kisses, and just talking, more than the sex. And it was definitely different. Perhaps not drastically different, because they still had sex on a somewhat often basis, but they were more often found together simply talking, or maybe even just cuddling. Most definitely not the same exact Kaden that had entered the school last year, when he was a freshman. The sophomore grinned down at Parker as the older boy laid his head on Kaden’s shoulder. Sure, Parker was older, but Kaden was taller. Interesting relationship, no?
He looked questioningly at the senior as he tried to form what he wanted to say. He couldn’t help but be slightly pleased with himself at the sight of blushing on the older boy’s cheeks. In fact, the sign of such made his light blush appear once more upon his own cheeks. Kaden mentally cursed himself for being so easy to blush around him. ”You...what?” Kaden inquired. Kaden didn’t like people starting to say something and then saying ‘nevermind.’ He much preferred people finishing what they said. As the familiar sound of ‘nevermind’ escaped Parker’s lips, Kaden sighed. He had heard the same thing a million times before, and he still disliked it. He poked out his bottom lip in a, he hoped, cute pout. Nobody could resist a ‘puppy-dog pout’ as it was called. Brown eyes looked down at Parker, begging for an explanation of what the other boy was going to say. However, the whole effect was soon messed up as his blush deepened slightly as Parker’s arms latched around him. A grin covered his lips again, and Kaden wrapped one arm around the older boy’s shoulder, the other resting gently on Parker’s leg. He leaned over so his mouth was just inches away from his ear. ”C’mon...you can tell me..” He whispered before placing a quick kiss on his cheek.
