Adrien gently chewed his lip as he stared at his laptop screen. He had made plans for this day, plans that involved a day with Dani. But he was nervous. It was generally expected for one to be nervous before their first official date. It only made sense. But he felt as if he were more nervous than one was supposed to be. Then again, that might have to do with the fact that he was a bit scared to like Dani as he did. He was frightened that he might get hurt, or some other such thing. It wasn’t that he was scared that he would get physically hurt. It was more of an emotional thing, really. He knew what happened to his mother when she had broken up with her boyfriend of that time. He was made. He also, briefly, had a relationship in freshman year. Needless to say, it ended horribly. Such was the reason that he was scared of liking Dani. He hadn’t been forced into the relationship, no, he really did like Dani, possibly actually loving her, but he was scared to do so, scared that he would stomp on his heart that she had in her grasp. He didn’t think she truly was so cruel, but it was the possibility that scared him.
Fear of commitment. Fear of love. It seemed like a silly thing to be scared of. Something so simple, something that most people wanted in their life. And he was scared of it, afraid. Perhaps it was not so much the actual loving of the person that scared him, seeing as how he was currently in a relationship with Dani. It was more the possibility that he could get hurt that scared him. Not physical hurt. Physical hurt would be too easy. It would heal so much quicker. No, the mental hurt was what scared him. The hurt that being broken could give him. Love raised one higher, higher. It lifted you into a great happiness. But then, once the relationship was broken, down you would fall onto the hard, cold ground, with no one there to help you pick the mess up. You’d be left broken and bleeding, and only your closest friends might help. And even then, there was the possibility that they wouldn’t. It was the mental pain that hurt. It was the worst feeling in the world, to have something so good suddenly disappear, your support falling away, leaving you to your own devices, with not a care about what happened to you.
Mental pain was the thing that hurt the most. Physical pain couldn’t even compare. Frankly, physical pain could often help relieve the mental. Why do you think people cut themselves? The pain that they felt in their mind, for whatever reason, hurt so much that when they slit their wrists, or whatever part of their body, the pain, the red blood that trickled down their skin felt good. It was a scary thought, really. Of course, the fact that it helped them feel better didn’t make cutting any better. It was still a horrid thing, a horrid thought. Such a thing, such a horrid act could make one feel better. And yet.....such pain, mental pain was still there. And, frankly, Adrien might’ve been one of those people. He didn’t know himself exactly where he would’ve been, but he would be in a very bad state, was it not for Dani. Was it not for the girl, the one that he had hated, helped him when he found out he was not who he thought he was. When he learned that he was, in fact, half-human. No longer a full demon. He would have had much worse a mental pain. Maybe he wouldn’t even have been alive at this point. But Dani.....she, the girl that he hated, had comforted him. Helped him when he was down, when he was scared about what he should do. She didn’t have to, but she did, and it made everything better.
And yet...the thought of such mental pain hurt him. The mental pain he might feel should Dani just up and dump him for another. Or even just be single again. But he shouldn’t think such things. It just made him more nervous for what was to come. For what might happen when he talked to her next, whether it be in person, over the phone, or on the computer. It just made the next meeting with the girl he loved, although he was scared of it, more tense, he would be so much more nervous when the time came. And such a time was fast approaching. He would soon be meeting with Dani, he knew. And here he was, thinking of the horrid possibilities that might happen between them, possibilities that he didn’t want to know about. Possibilities he didn’t even want to think of.
Shoving back his chair, Adrien quickly stood up from his seat at the desk, scattering various pieces of paper that had been lying around. Some of the papers weren’t even his, belonging to his roommates. Stupid kids that but their crap where his laptop was. He was fucking here first, they hadn’t a reason to put their shit where his was. And it pissed him off. So Adrien grabbed the papers, taking his own from the pile and carefully setting them on the desk again before dropping the other papers on the ground, a smirk on his lips. He hated his roommates. He really did. They pissed him off so much, really. Not to mention they weren’t often caught around, doing other stuff. He didn’t know his roommates that well, really. He hadn’t bothered to make friends with them when he met them. And, frankly, he didn’t want to. At the time he met them, he was still under the impression that he was a full demon, and considered the other breeds lower than himself, and therefore found several of his roomies of lesser rank than himself, and didn’t bother to associate himself with them. I mean, why should he have?
Chewing his lip, he glanced in the mirror. It wasn’t because he was vain, no, he was far from being vain. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to wear. Well, maybe that wasn’t the right way of phrasing it. He wasn’t sure what he should wear. Sure, if they had gone to dinner or something, at a fairly nice restaurant, then perhaps he would dress up fairly nicely. Not to mention that there was the fact that they were teenagers. Not many teenagers did such things these days. Well, they went out to eat as a date, but they didn’t dress up in any manner. They simply wore normal clothes. Then again, perhaps it was just the high class way he was raised that he knew better than to wear normal clothes on a nice date. But where they were going today.....it wasn’t the sort of place you’d really dress up for.
Would he be fine wearing his current clothing? The normal band tee, jeans, and a hoodie? It was simple clothing, the sort of stuff he wore nearly everyday. There was nothing special about it. Nothing that said that it would be okay clothing for a date, nothing that said that it didn’t matter if he worse it or not. Then again, it was the zoo. Yeah, they were going to the zoo. Kind of silly for a first date, you would think. But it was Dani’s choice. He had asked her if she wanted to go anywhere, and she had said the zoo. So, to the zoo they would go. Ripping his eyes from the mirror, he decided that what he currently wore would be fine. And should Dani think differently, he would change. It wouldn’t be a problem at all. It was her decision on everything, really.
Glancing at the clock, he noted the time. 3:15. He wanted to start towards the zoo around 3:30, arrive at four, hang around, and then possibly go to dinner somewhere, should the time permit. Although, he highly doubted that they wouldn’t be able to go to dinner, seeing as how there was only so much you could do at a zoo. Besides, there was always the zoo hours to consider. So they probably would go out to eat somewhere. Where? Adrien didn’t know that either. Dani would choose, most likely. Adrien chuckled lightly at the thought that she would. It seemed she was the one controlling most of this date, really. Only he was choosing when they did so. And Dani didn’t even know. To her, it would be a surprise that they were going today. He did know, however, that she had the afternoon and evening free. He had made sure of that before making any of the plans. If he hadn’t, then he might arrive at her dorm with no one there, something that wouldn’t be good at all. Planning on having the date and it running out the girl wasn’t even there? Wouldn’t be the best of circumstances. Not after all he had done to prepare. Okay, so it might not seem as if he did, but he had to plan this around his schedule , he had to figure out when they should leave, how long it took to get there, everything. Not to mention he had to find out when Dani was without hinting at that he was planning for. He knew she knew something was up. Hopefully, though, she didn’t know what it was.
Eyes roaming around the room, he glanced around various area, attempting to see if there was anything he really, truly needed, besides the stuff by the door that he had especially for today. With a sigh, he grabbed his phone and stuck it in his hoodie pocket, also sticking the earphones to his iPod, quickly switching it on and the song to The World Has Its Shine by Cobra Starship, before sticking it, too, into the same pocket. Hey, he needed his music. Stooping down to grab the two things on the floor next to the door, he took another glance around. This was his last chance to grab something he might need. He grabbed his keys off the hook by the door, and exited his dorm room, closing, and locking, the door behind him.
Adrien’s feet moved along the floor, making a sound upon impact of shoe and ground, as he wandered towards the girl’s dorm, towards Dani’s room. Well, Dani’s room and whoever else roomed there. Because there was always more than one person per room. Sadly. He really wish he had no roommates. Just because they were so annoying. Their constant nagging, when they were actually in the room, annoyed him to no end. There was no end to their whiny voices, there truly wasn’t. And sometimes he just wished he could kill them. Kill them without having any consequence. No threat of being imprisoned or any other such thing. If he could do that....then he probably would. And that was another reason he was saving up for an apartment. Well, it’s not like he couldn’t ask for the money from his mother...he just didn’t want to have to talk to her again. Not after she had yelled at him for not talking to her the last time she came....the time that he had overheard her....and learned of his true heritage. He was forced to go to London to talk to her then...and it was horrible.
As he arrived at the hallway where the room that Dani was in, he pulled out his phone. He quickly sent a text message to Dani, a light smirk on his lips.
Hey Dani~ I have a surprise for you...check outside your room :]] <333 Rien
After sending it, he quickly walked over to stand in front of her door, swinging the arm that held her other surprise, a more tangible one behind his back. His heart beat wildly in his chest. What if she wasn’t in her room? What if she was somewhere else? His breathing hitched slightly at that idea. What if she were somewhere else.....with someone else, even? His lip was once again being chewed upon by his lip, his eyebrows lowering slightly in worry as he waited for the door to open...hopefully. And hopefully with Dani behind the door. He cast a nervous glance around him, continuing to hide his second present behind him.
Finally, the door opened. A grin covered his lips, and, before he could see who it was, he brandished the previously hidden arm up, a single red rose being revealed in his hand. ”For you, Dani...” he breathed, nervously looking into her face, for it indeed was Dani that opened the door, for her reaction.
[ :P seeing as how it would be easier to just say Dani opened the door...she did xD I didn’t feel like waiting...just because...xD AND! with this post....I have the highest word count post, I do believe :PP] [/blockquote]

“Ugggh, this is crap!” Dani groaned and threw another shirt down; a pout spreading across her lips. “Fuck this,” she told herself and turned back around to her large closet. When you shared a room with four girls, things got a little cramped. When three of them disappeared things suddenly stopped getting lost and disappearing. She had no problem sharing a room with Xio. She was quiet anyway and didn’t mind Dani blasting loud music and dancing around in her underwear. Which by the way, she was starting to wish she hadn’t wasted so much time dancing in her undies because Adrien had told her to be ready around the general hour of time and she was still walking around in skinny jeans and a bra. She doubted that whatever he needed it didn’t include her being half dressed. (At least not yet…)
Dani fought through the bundles of clothes hanging before her before deciding she would just close her eyes and randomly pick a shirt. “Whatever it is, I’m wearing it,” she mumbled to herself and snatched fabric of the hanger. She cracked one eye to peek and what she was holding and sighed in relief. It matched. And she actually loved this shirt. Good deal. The red skipped back to the mirror and button up on her red flannel shirt. Nowadays she was always taking her time and really getting dressed up. She always had the urge to be extra girly and look cute whenever she was going to hang out with Adrien. It was almost scary because it DANI. And we all know Dani is like a guy trapped in a guys body. Well, most of the time. But now it was just funny how she always felt the need to look good for he new boyfriend. Yes, you read right. New boyfriend. And you read the name right too. Dani. And Adrien. Going out. Hard to believe but it was happening. Like, foreal foreal. She wasn’t even quite sure how it happened it just did. One second they were fighting and bickering like always and the next she couldn’t take her eyes off him. It made no sense really, but it had happened and she didn’t really care for questioning it. They had something good going, no matter why it happened. As long as he wasn’t planning on breaking her heart and for once, it didn’t look like Adrien was planning to do that.
Was she afraid? Hell yeah, she was afraid! This was Adrien Killingston we’re talking about. How many years had he endlessly tortured her? How many times had he almost reduced her to tears in front of other people? This was the boy who woke up just to see her whole day go down in flames. This was the boy who had hated her unconditionally just because he was human. The very same boy who had constantly reminded her just how ‘worthless’ she was in his eyes. This very boy she was no in love with. One thing. One moment and all of Adrien’s life had changed and hers with it. That day she had found him Downworlder’s was the first time she hadn’t felt the urge to kick him while he was down. It was also the very first time she had ever seen him cry and it absolutely without a doubt…broke her heart. Up until that point she had hated Adrien so much though there had never really been a reason except he was a jerk to her but just seeing him like that…she couldn’t bring herself to be mean. Four years of anger and hate just disappeared and the only emotion she could find for him was to be nice.
And then suddenly, out of freakin nowhere she dating? She couldn’t even remember how that had happened, it just did. When she saw him late, she was planning on asking him to recap for her because it was kinda sad if she couldn’t remember these kinds of things. And she wanted to hear his version of the story. “There,” Dani straightened her shirt and swept her bright red bangs out of her eyes. She really didn’t feel like putting on any makeup today so she didn’t threw her makeup bag back on the bed and turned sideway to make sure her clothes were straight.
Loud rock music filled the room and Dani leaped onto the bed for her phone, completely ruining whatever piece of clothes she had just straightened. Adrien was texting her so that was all that really mattered.
Hey Dani~ I have a surprise for you...check outside your room :]] <333 Rien
Danni’s small smile transformed into a grin and she leapt to the door, still barefoot and uncaring. The short girl threw open the door and attacked Adrien before he even had a chance to really speak. Yes, she had missed him that much in one day. Dani stepped back to be presented with the prettiest rose she had ever seen. No one had ever given her flowers before. “Awe, Adrien!” She squealed and bit her lips before taking the rose and throwing her arms around him again. “Thank you!” She placed a quick kiss on cheek and grinned up at him. “You’re wonderful,” She told him sincerely before making a face. “I forgot my shoes…” Dani jumped towards Adrien in way that mean if he didn’t catch her, they were both going down. “The floor is cold! To the room!”

Apartments most definitely seemed appealing to him at this moment. He didn’t have to share his space with any other person. He didn’t have to worry about anything of his being misplaced. Hell, he could make all the mess that he wanted without getting yelled at for it. And, being a guy, he was most definitely not the neatest person in the world when it came to possessions and stuff like that. Not saying that guys couldn’t be neat, of course. It was just that guys usually aren’t that neat. And Adrien was no exception to that.
However one might think that Adrien wasn’t quite presentable for him to be going on a date, trust me, he worried a lot more about what he was wearing then before. He used to just throw on whatever was clean, pretty much. As long as it looked decent, he was fine with what he was wearing. He had a shirt, jeans, socks, shoes, and underwear on, he was fine. Didn’t really matter to him what he was wearing, so long it was somewhat presentable. But that type of attitude towards clothing was no longer. He cared about what he wore. More so than before, anyways. He wasn’t suddenly really dressing up. He was still wearing the same stuff as before, but he made sure that it looked good and matched before going away. While before he may have clashed somewhat, now he matched. And he actually attempted to get his clothes nice and straight, instead of wrinkly and crumpled up. Not that he ironed it. Of course he didn’t, but he definitely got it the least wrinkly he could. Just because of Dani. His new girlfriend. Yeah, hard to believe. She was his girlfriend. The girl that he had hated. Had being the keyword. Obviously, in this new situation, he no longer hated her. That would be a situation. Hating his girlfriend. But he didn’t. Not anymore, anyways.
He could only imagine how Dani felt about it. She probably thought it was much weirder, for she was the target of his hateful words, his scornful remarks, those sentences that made her cry, the ones that caused her so much grief, though she never truly earned his hate. He just hated her. He was expected, by his family, to do so. It was how he was taught, and so he did. Of course, when he learned that humans were despicable creatures, he had not known them. He knew nothing of their nature. But he hated them all the same. Nothing changed when he actually met humans at Winterthorne. Nothing at all. The hate that he had been taught to felt about them stayed, no matter that some of them actually seemed nice. He couldn’t bring himself to like them. He didn’t want to disappoint his mother. Not to mention fuel the fire of dislike that her mother had for him, just because he was the product of that man. So, he wouldn’t want to anger her. No way, no how was he going to do such a thing. And Dani. Something about her made him just all the angrier at her. He didn’t know what it was. It just made him be more pissed at her, made him hate her more. And for no true reason. He just did. And he didn’t care. It was such a part of him that it didn’t really matter that he hurt her. And it only fueled his dislike for the girl when she responded with tears. It let him know that he did good in what he was attempting to accomplish. It did nothing to hinder him.
It didn’t do to dwell on his past, on the horrible person he had been. The person he had been before. It only made him feel bad for what he did to Dani. For how he had hurt her, made her cry. But it was hard to make sense of what happened. One minute, he was full demon, hated Dani and her whole race. The next, he was half-demon, half-human and all of a sudden, Dani was one of his friends...and he couldn’t seem to be able to take his eyes off of the girl. I mean, sure, he couldn’t see her before without taunting her, but this was different. She was really and truly attractive to him, and he didn’t know quite how to handle it. But once it just all came out, and they were all of a sudden dating. It was odd, he knew. He couldn’t make much sense of it at all. He could only hope that the girl might know more of what happened. It all seemed surreal to him. But it was in a good way, of course.
Adrien chewed his lip as he stood waiting. He glanced to his left and right, not noticing anyone in the halls. Such was the norm. These days, not many people were around, and it was odd. There should be more people around, but there weren’t. With a soft sigh, he brought his right hand up and adjusted his bangs that fell across his brow, just above his eye. After, it seemed, forever, the door finally swung open. Before he could even utter one word, he was attacked by a redhead. A laugh escaped his lips as he hugged the smaller girl, a grin forming upon his lips as she fit perfectly in his arms. At least it seemed so to him. As the girl stepped back to properly greet him, and being presented with the rose, a blush formed upon his cheeks. He as sure as hell hadn’t been so nervous before. Not even going to London to speak with his mother as he was aught to do due to her demands. Only for Dani was he so nervous, Maybe it was a bad thing, but perhaps it was good. Or maybe he was simply being a worrywart. As the girl gave him a kiss on a cheek, and thanked him for the flower, he breathed a sigh of relief. She liked it. That was good. Now they had to see if she was ready for what they were to do today. ”You’re welcome,” he replied with a gentle smile. He shook his head at her words. ”No, you’re wonderful,” he said, before a laugh burst forth from his lips at her comment. Shoes. She forgot shoes, of all things. He couldn’t help but be very amused by that fact. Although, the floor had to be extremely cold.
Suddenly, Dani launched herself towards him. With wide eyes, he quickly caught her before she fell, which would take him down with her. Chuckling, he spun her around once quickly. ”Well, that’s your fault for forgetting shoes, now isn’t it?” He inquired with a grin as he took her back into the room. He carried her over to her bed and plopped her on it not so gently with a devilish grin gracing his features. No, the action was not meant in a cruel way. Besides, the fall couldn’t hurt her in any way. She didn’t fall to far, and in the way he dropped her, he made sure she wouldn’t get hurt. The most she could do was complain about him dropping her and pouting. That was the most she could do. It was all in good fun, anyways. He pulled out a chair and sat in it backwards as he looked around the room. ”You haven’t cleaned up much, have you?” He remarked, raising an eyebrow in question, a smirk replacing the previous grin as he looked at the garments of clothes dotting the room. A teasing grin quickly replaced said smirk as he looked back at her. ”C’mon, I’ve got something special planned for today. Hurry up, or we may miss it.” Okay, so the last bit was a bit of a lie, but she wouldn’t know such a thing. Not unless she had figured out what they were going to do, which, he hoped, she hadn’t.

Of course she’d forgotten her shoes. This was DanI. She forget everything that was important! She forgot her birthday sometimes! She forgot her homework all the time. And now that Adrien was coming, she been to preoccupied with thinking about him to remember her shoes. Which is exactly why she was in his arms now instead of standing on the cold ground. Sometimes DanI was like a child. And right now was one of those times. She clung to Adrien around his neck and kicked her feet and she spun her around before heading back into her dorm. “Thank --off!” He plopped her on her bed and she pouted the best she could before sitting up at the edge of the bed. She stuck her tongue out before wiggling her toes at him. “Me? Clean up?” She grinned. “That’s my roommates job, I pay her good money for it!” She probably would pay her roommate good money to clean her side of the room up…it was a good idea, god knew DanI was never going to clean, she moved to much to sit still and she did too many things to care about what was on the floor.
Ooh, did he say something special? DanI leaped up from her bed, setting her rose on her drawer and turned in circles. “Where did I leave my socks..?” she pouted and scanned the room for her missing socks. They were of course, sitting on the edge of the bed but at the moment she was too oblivious to notice. “Adrien, I can’t find my socks!” Her hands went on her hip and she glared at the ground before he handed them to her. “Oh, yeah!” She giggled and slipped them on before shoving her feet into a pair of vans and jumping up. “Does my hair look okay?” She usually wasn’t one to care but she actually want to look nice when she was going out with Adrien to wherever he was taking, Sure it was a little weird, she wasn’t used to being so…preoccupied with her looks when it came to guys but Adrien wasn’t just any guy. He was Adrien. She genuinely liked him. More so than any other guy she have liked and definitely more than any other guy she had ever been with.
“Okay!” She tugged on his sleeve playfully and jumped like a little kid. “I’m ready let’s go! Where are we going? Tell me! Tell me!” She gave him her best million dollar smile and looked at him hopfully because she really wanted to know what the big surprise was. “Awuh, come on, tell meeeee.” She pouted and batted her long eyelashes. “You know you want to…” She hooked her arm through his thought it didn’t stay there for long because she couldn’t stop moving around and skipped ahead of him. “Adrieeen. Tell meee.”
