I finally made it. I made a clean getaway. Avery had spent the whole night cooped up inside her dorm room. Don't get her wrong as much as she loved being alone, she needed some light as long as she was back inside soon. She didn't need that kind of burn. No vampire did. But atleast they could go outside. Not like those poor vampires in the TV shows or books where if sunlight touched them at all they burst into flames. Well she sort of burst into flames when the sunlight hit her...hair that is. The mass of long, usually messy red hair that draped down her back...usually. Today she had put it up in a messy bun. Everything about her today said 'lazy'. It was one of those days it seemed. The day where she rolled out of bed and went to the park in what could be her pajamas. But the sweat pants that bunched at her knees, with her blue sweat shirt were just pieces of clothing that she had felt like wearing.
Most likely by the end of her walk she'll have stripped off her sweat shirt, and attempted to put her hair higher up on her head to keep the heat away. But it never worked. A lot of the time she thought about cutting off her long lockes, but that would never happen in a million years. Hell no. It was morning, before the city woke. The air was still cool, a bit crispy even for the summer time. Atleast the sun was out, that's all she cared about. The sun, it gave her strength, and yet weakened her. Go figure. One of the things she enjoyed during her life was the sun, and now that had been partially taken from her. A verbal humph escaped past her lips. Not one she meant to let go, it had a mind of it's own.
Her long legs carried her along the widing nature trail through the forest. It was nice this early in the morning, no chattering, sniveling little humans to annoy her. Some things she loved and hated about being a vampire. She now realized what the world had come to, since she became a vampire. They didn't care about anyone but themselves, not even this fair planet that decided to share life with them. Worthless. All of them. And yet she felt a strong pull to be like them again. Have a heart beat, enjoy things that she used to be able to, take things for granted and not give a care. But she was a changed woman at the age of 18, or however old she felt like being now, she had been changed into the monster. To never see the Heavens, and damned to eternal hell...on Earth. Really she needed someone to pick up the slack in her life. Keep her from thinking these thoughts, but who could love a vampire? Who could a vampire love...no one.
Avery continued on her walk. Her ice blue eyes scanning the scenery infront of her. The leaves in the trees bristling in the light summer wind. It'd be fall soon enough. The leaves would changed and fall to the ground. Fall was her favorite season, she could hide easily in plain sight then. Her hair blending in wherever she walked, against the orange leaves. Of course in summer, in the sun, her freckles showed themselves more. Atleast as a vampire she was able to keep her freckles...a trade mark of hers.

x Although I was blinded My heart let me find out That truth makes a better manEver since the demon powers started to show up in him, the time in bed became almost non-existent, he only needed a couple of hours to face the next day fully awake and it actually didn't bother him very much. The more time he stayed awake, the more he could do which meant he was always in front of everyone else when it came to homeworks. William was still learning about his powers and the fact he was a Demon, he didn't knew exactly what he was before coming to Winterhorne and even then, it took a while to fully comprehend the characteristics of his kind. His parents were completely normal, his twin sister, an angel and he...a demon. How could that happen? They were basically the ying and yang but overall, neither one was a demon or an angel when it came to personalities. It's true Will is extremely narcissistic and egocentric but he never did anything that could label him as a being from hell.
Wearing a black shirt, white tie and also white pants, the boy walked through the grey forest, some of the buttons of the shirt were undone just to give a more casual look, let's face it, he was still seventeen. A book floated in front of him and it moved at the same speed and time he did, the boys hands rested inside his pants pockets and a small smirk played around his lips. The pages turned by themselves, he just needed to think and it would happen. It was a nice day outside and William's light blue eyes were hidden behind a pair of hugo boss sunglasses. The De Lucas were an extremely wealthy family, they had several five star hotels all around the world and they had money to live several lives after this one. His posture showed immediately that he didn't came from any middle class family, he had poise and class in every action and one of the things that he hated was people with lack of that, he called them "savages".
After twenty minutes walking around the forest, a noise caught his attention, the book moved slightly so the boy could see what was in front of him. He spotted a girl not far from him and with a charming smile he greeted "Good morning" he claimed as the book closed and went to the hand that he took of his pocket.

I finally made it. I made a clean getaway. She had fallen it a sort of lull. Her steps keeping the beat that would've been her heart if it was still pounding in her chest. But it wasn't so she made up for it in movement. She enjoyed moving, and exciting things it made her believe that she had a heart beat. She could still feel the warmth of blood rushing to her face every now and then, she'll touch her face and find it to be stone cold. Which then most of the time puts her in a sour mood. Lately she'd been able to ignore the fact that she was ice cold. Whatever. She could care less now a days.
A strange noise greeted here ears as she heard someone walking along behind her. Obviously another early riser. That was a rare one. No one ever woke up this early before classes, usually she watched the students rush around like babbling idiots. She had never been the type for gossip hearing it that is, but she didn't mind spreading it around. The drama kept her lively as well. After hearing the soft crunch of twigs the smell of a...demon swept into her nostrils. Not long after that she heard his good morning. Might as well be friendly. Can't go friendless now can we.
Avery turned on her heel to face William de Luca. A nice boy, slightly conceited...but than again who wasn't. They'd seen each other around, they could probably be considered somewhat of more than acquaintances, seeing as he was a senior and she a junior they'd gone to school for awhile together. "Good morning!" She replied cheerily. Not really what she had been going for, but as of now she had lost control of all emotions. That was fine with her, she spent too much of her time trying to control her actions. Afraid of breaking people with one wrong twitch of her fingers. Everyone was so fragile, and yet she had the ability to heal aswell. What a contradiction. Her eyes drifted over his body and then to the book in his hand. Him...reading? Well that was something she hadn't expected. "What are you reading?" she smiled at him and stepped closer towards him.
Him being here made her wonder if maybe, possibly she could befriend him. More than she already had. If that's what you called it. They barely talked, and that was partly her fault. She didn't much talk to anyone. Which was weird because when she was younger ...before she turned you couldn't get her to keep her mouth shut. And possibly part of the problem was that her father had traded her to make a deal. Thus her being given to a vampire, and being turned, probably affected her in such a way that she guarded herself so wholey. Practical reasoning. It was time to change that. She'd spent too long being quiet, and guarded. Maybe it was time to lower her defenses and open up to someone. Well probably not this moment but at least work towards the goal. That would be a start. Hell talking to Will was a start, if anything.

x Although I was blinded My heart let me find out That truth makes a better manWilliam, although popular, was quite the book worm, rarely one could see him walk around without a book in his hand or in front of him floating. He never got bored with books, since a young age the De Luca searched for knowledge in every way he could get it. There was a world filled with races and abilities so he tried to know as much as he could about it, not only to answer his questions but also as curiosity. What made a person a demon or an angel? Was it a genetic problem or a choice made by some higher power?Nobody could really answer those questions yet, there was a lot of information about werewolves, vampires and wizards, but when it came to other races, few was information was given. Does being a demon mean that in the end of his life, hell would be waiting for him?Hopefully not, but that was another question, was he indeed immortal or did he had several centuries to live?Questions, questions, questions... he thought to himself, rolling his eyes without forcing them to.
"Good morning!"
Will grinned gently at her cheerful greeting, he didn't knew Avery well but he knew she wasn't someone that talked a lot so the way she greeted him got him unguarded but he was glad it hadn't been a gloomy "Good morning". "How are you gorgeous?" he asked with a charming smile as he walked toward the girl, she was very good looking but they never had the chance to spend some time alone and talk that much, maybe he wasn't his type either, who knew. Some of the students preferred to keep their relationships in the same race, some people frowned upon mixing but it was stupid to do so, in the end, they were all different and special in their own way.
"What are you reading?"
William looked to the cover and laughed softly before replying "Black Magic for the advanced wizard" he replied simply, indeed, he wasn't a wizard but that didn't meant he couldn't know a little more about them and be prepared if he got in some kind of physical contact with one. The future was uncertain so the only thing one could do was to prepare himself in any possible, besides, the book was quite interesting "What bring you here so early?" he asked, now just a couple of feet from where she was standing. He took his sunglasses and looked directly to the girls eyes with his light blue ones.

I finally made it. I made a clean getaway.
His grin brought an even wider smile to her face. Yes it was definitely time to make friends. She was realizing now how ridiculous she had been, keeping to herself. Probably if they had thrown servants in front of her she would've talked to them and been friends with them, she was never good with kids her own age. Thank you dear parents for being so dumb, and now you're dead...ooh look where it all got you. Avery could pretty much do anything she wanted and not die.
Gorgeous? For reals? Well that was new, but of course this didn't come so much as a shock to her as she knew about him, and his sweet talking ways. Ava just never thought he'd try it on her. "I'm fine, thank you. And hwat about you handsome?" It was the truth. In fact she realized that most people here were quite...pretty. As if being special made you look better. Now in her case it did slightly. Turning gave her angular features, porcelain white skin(still adorned with freckles), the softest skin you'd ever feel.
"Well that's interesting. Aren't you a demon?" Of course he was. She could smell his blood. Everyone, all species, had a distinct smell to their blood. For those who can smell it vampires are a sweet, sickly smell, werewolves kind of musty not something you'd really want to feed on, and then angels with their clean, blood kind of just smells like water, and demons with murky blood more like alcohol...slightly intoxicating to the unprepared sensitive smeller. Avery was prepared living in a school with different specialized species she was always attempting to be prepared for anything. A fight between races, or teenage angst. Whichever came first. This was a world where she was slightly lost in amongst her own people.
"I came for a walk, before the other students got up, and before classes. I just needed some fresh air. My dorm doesn't get enough of it." she smiled again. It was true the window's in her dorm rarely were opened, partly because her roomies were seemingly always freezing. It didn't matter to her, she liked all types of weather, except for extreme heat and humidity. It made her hair wack. Yes even vampires can't get away from frizzy hair during humidity attacks. Luck of the draw, she guessed. "Atleast it was a good morning to come out here." And it was. the cool crips morning air, with the sun rising, a little bit of misty fog on the ground. Oh, how she loved the outdoors. So beautiful and majestic.

x Although I was blinded My heart let me find out That truth makes a better man"I'm fine, thank you. And what about you handsome?"
As Avery gave a wide smile, a grin appeared on his lips. Calling people gorgeous was just a regular thing, maybe deep down it was a way of flirting but in the end, he would call everyone that, he was a strange demon indeed. Instead of creating chaos and problems to everyone, making people sign contracts that bounded them to him for the rest of their lives in exchange for something, he just read and flirted. He also didn't received any kind of information that told him what was that Demons were supposed to do, every one in that school had their own personality joined with their race and abilities, he, not even close...ok...maybe a little. "I'm great." he replied simply with a wink.
"Well that's interesting. Aren't you a demon?"
William laughed lightly at her statement "Indeed I am" he claimed, how did he knew that? It hadn't been a please sight when he first transformed, his eyes turned completely black with a yellow iris, his power increased several times and he wasn't able to control himself. This had happened after having a discussion with his parents and walking to their garden. Destruction was the only thing left where he stood after getting back to his room. That was the main reason he avoided direct confrontations with anyone, not because he was afraid but because he didn't knew what could happen to that person. Now, he was able to transform and get back to his human form as he pleased, but there was still a level he wasn't able to control. "If I can't find information about my race it's better to read about all the others, who knows, maybe If I join the little written in each book in the library about demons It can make things a little more clear" he added with a gentle smile.
"I came for a walk, before the other students got up, and before classes. I just needed some fresh air. My dorm doesn't get enough of it."
Grinning he started to walk and made a gentle movement with his head asking Avery to do the same. Living in a dorm had been a great change for him. Back home, in his family manor, he was used to have privacy and luxury that could never be found here, he never had to share things or even hear other people snore all night. He had had a hard time getting used to things but in the end, it turned out alright, maybe because his sleeping hours started to be less than when he first got here "Want some company? If not, I can just teleport myself a mile from here" he said in a joking tone, but well, it was true, the last thing he wanted was to bother her with his company.

Well two one syllable words. Atleast the were making progress. Hell talking to each other was progress in the end. Most of the demons she'd met before weren't as kind as he was, unless he was playing her, and then she'd probably have to kill him later. Kidding! Really she'd never killed anyone, animals on the other hand...well she needed to survive some how. For anyone who paid enough attention to the red head, they would be able to tell that she hadn't fed in awhile. her eyes were a dark dull grey that ached for the blood. Human blood lasted longer in the system but animal blood meant she wasn't killing something she used to be. Avery shook her head slightly and reigned herself in. No more thinking of that.
"I bet there is information somewhere about your kind. There has to be. Or atleast an elder demon, that could help you out." Avery had a lot of blind faith in things. It's what got her in trouble the most often. But really, he didn't know who he was, that's probably why he was different from most demons. They'd all had demon parents, did her not? "Are your parents not of the same race as you?" The question has slipped past her soft pink lips before she realized she was asking it. Maybe that was a touchy subject, she didn't know. Maybe they were dead and that's why he was so lost as to what he was. Avery understood if that's what it was, when she was turned her 'master' had killed her parents, but let her run free after turning. So really she had to teach herself about being a vampire...and not killing people. Harder than you think. Lots of concentration, stamina, and courage...also locking yourself in helps. She didn't let herself wonder outside...ever, not when she had been newly turned.
Ava noticed his slight wave of hand, calling her to walk again, but this time with him. She started walking alongside him. His question caught her off guard. She had only just expected him to keep walking with her, not even ask her permission (not that she cared.) "Hmm, yes company would be nice. No need to teleport yourself away from me. I'm not that scary, atleast I don't think I am. Although a sophomore girl might disagree. I don't really think she and I started out on the best of terms." Really Kjara and her hadn't gotten along at first, but maybe there was hope for a friendship there...probably not. The girl was too guarded for her own good, oh well. Avery wasn't one to force things upon people unless she really wanted it, and then usually she got what she wanted...usually. A few times her plan had backfired, nothing major though.

"I bet there is information somewhere about your kind. There has to be. Or at least an elder demon, that could help you out."
William nodded slightly to her statement "Maybe there is, but I'm not sure I would like to meet an elder demon." he stated thoughtfully "I'm not exactly the badass type of guy and I don't know if it wouldn't be better to stay unaware of my future as a demon.It's...complicated" he added, still smiling warmly. Would he have to take a life of soul gathering when older or make people do things to his own personal benefit, if so, he preferred to stay oblivious about it. He would deal with thing when the time was right, now, it was just about having a good time and enjoy his life as a wealthy, good looking demon.
"Are your parents not of the same race as you?"
Laughing he shook his head "Nop" he stated simply before running his fingers through his hair "It's a strange thing actually, but well, here, what's not strange?" the second day of school there, William had seen a boy taking out pieces of his body and putting them together after, it had been a shock to him to see something like that after so recently knowing there were people with abilities, since then, nothing shocked him anymore "They're both humans without any type of ability, at least that I'm aware of, and I have a twin sister that's an angel, so yeah, I'm not getting any answers from there" how was it possible for two people that were born with the same parents and with only a few minutes of difference to be the complete opposite when it came to race and ability? That was an answer even more difficult to reply than what was going to be his future as a demon.
"Hmm, yes company would be nice. No need to teleport yourself away from me. I'm not that scary, at least I don't think I am. Although a sophomore girl might disagree. I don't really think she and I started out on the best of terms."
A charming smile crossed his lips as the girl accepted "You scary?Far from it, actually, I think you're extremely good looking" he stated without looking at her, his eyes stuck on the path before them, "Which brings the question..." raising an eyebrow, he turned his head to her with a thoughtful look "Where's your boyfriends?" he asked, not only to release himself of any kind of guilt...ok he doesn't much of that, just a little but still, as curiosity.

Avery giggled as he stated he wasn't exactly a bad ass demon. That was quite true. If he was he'd probably have the worst temper ever. Now Avery on the other hand...vampires (or atleast Blair and Avery) were notorious for their tempers, often swinging moods. You never know what mood you'll run into. Lucky for Will it was the kind bubbly version of Avery. The one that enjoyed the mornings, and sunrises, before most everyone was up. Like now! "How weird! Your twin sister's an angel. You guys are like yin and yang." Which was oddly awesomely cool to the junior. Almost made her want a yin to her yang.
His parents also were not of the same race. "Well you're just not getting anywhere very fast are you. I've heard of that before. Parents with out powers of any kind, or any type of other race in their blood having children. It's not uncommon. Actually it's probably more common. DNA plays a part of it really." Except in Avery's case. She was born human, and normal for eighteen years of her life, but her DNA was changed when she was turned. How wonderful, she was a full fledged weirdo that when exposed to the human world, she'd most likely be hunted and killed...savagely. Even though she could probably take them all out, a part of her would probably let them kill her. The part that was still partially human and hated being what she was.
"Oh ho, I can get quite scary. Believe me." Avery blushed, and by blushed I mean left over blood in her system that hadn't all drained away ran up to her cheeks, of course she was good looking she was a vampire. But it just sounded better coming from him. At the mention of 'boyrfriends' Avery had to hold in a laugh. Of course she could have any guy she wanted of the school, all befalling to her prettyness, but non of them were right. "I ate them..." She left the sentence hang in the air. Of course it wasn't true! She hadn't ever taken a human life, and planned on not doing so to feed her thirst. She'd stick the animals.

"How weird! Your twin sister's an angel. You guys are like yin and yang."
Smiling he turned his gaze away from her and raised his head slightly, staring at the clouds for some seconds before replying "Indeed, that's something that has been mentioned before, the complete opposites, at least when it comes to races, because deep down, me and my sister are not that different" for a moment he remembered he hadn't been able to see his sister for a while, he had got used to it, they both had their own lives and they both were busy in their own way. In the beginning had been quite strange not to be with her all the time like back home, but they were still really close.
"Well you're just not getting anywhere very fast are you. I've heard of that before. Parents with out powers of any kind, or any type of other race in their blood having children. It's not uncommon. Actually it's probably more common. DNA plays a part of it really."
"I know..." if there was a student that had read almost every book about mutation in those grounds, that would be William De Luca. Ever since he had learned about his powers the search for answer had been exhausting, if a book had at least a sentence about it, he would read the entire book. "I believe the abilities can jump generations, that there's at least a member of the family that had had powers and that the cause of the mutation was able to travel through blood, no matter how small it can be and with time creates a reaction in their system." he claimed thoughtfully before turning his head to the beautiful ginger girl "But hell, what do I know?..." he asked rhetorically shaking his head gently.
"Oh ho, I can get quite scary. Believe me."
"Of course you can..." he laughed rolling his eyes, talking like she was a 5 year old, he was teasing of course "You ate your boyfriends? That's not very nice.." he stated with a concerned look, stopping and looking at her with his head tilted slightly to the left. Laughing he returned to the walk.

I finally made it. I made a clean getaway.
Maybe she should meet his sister. Of course if she was an angel she probably wouldn't be to partial to meet a vampire. One that somehow didn't make great first impressions, or so she'd been told. Obviously things were going well right now though. But then again this wasn't exactly a first impression, more like a first in depth conversation. It was nice, he was nice. Not like what Blair had told her. Of course she was going to keep her guard up, just in case, you never know when you could be being played. "Well that's good. That being of two different species it hasn't driven you two apart." Someday's Avery wished she had family members. Other than Blair...she was alone. No family that was still alive. Her parents had been dead for a couple years now, and her mother and father both had been only children. Her grandparents already died before she could remember them. Ava hated thinking of these things...the worst thing she could think about really.
Avery gaped a bit at what he was telling her. The boy had done his research. As had she. Most new ones did, well not as much as Avery had, but like she had said before a lot of people had their parents to teach them about their powers, because their parents were the same thing as them. No, Avery and William were in the same boat, sinking or floating they didn't know much about themselves. Avery probably more so, her race was more defined...the lines were bold and couldn't be crossed. The rules were there, for William it seemed he didn't know what his races guidelines were. Could there be a downside to his being a demon, that no one was realizing yet? "You obviously know a lot." A lot more, than Avery it seemed. Of course props to her for being on the right track. But the thought was still nagging at her. Not the time to pay attention to it...
Avery laughed at Will as he had almost taken her seriously, but obviously seen the joke written across her face, like an open book. "No for real real and not just for play play, I've never really had a 'boyfriend' per se. No, I've had suitors who fall off their noble steed. Especially the ones around here Most of the boys still haven't gotten it in their heads that races other than theirs exist. You try telling someone you're a vampire and their blood makes you live." Possibly that may not have come out right. But he'd understand....hopefully. Quick change topic! "What about you? Any girlfriends?" Of course there was always Blair, seemed to be the topic of a lot of Blair and Avery's conversations. But that didn't matter.
"Did you..." How should she phrase this. Was it too personal, too deep of a question to ask? " Did you ever think of there being a downside to being a demon. One you don't exactly know about yet?" Avery had the deep desire to know. Because if he knew about a downside, maybe she could help turn it into an upside. Help him if she could. If only her healing abilities could extend to healing what people thought was a disease. Not that Will thought of him being a demon as a disease, but it seemed a small portion of the kids here had never wanted to be special. Most of the God fearing ones, the pious ones.

"Well that's good. That being of two different species it hasn't driven you two apart."
Laughing lightly he nodded "Indeed", besides the normal brother-sister fights, they got along really well, when one is surrounded by people that their only desire is to reach the top no matter how many people they have to push down, they had to turn to someone and who better then a sibling?Even though William was the one that showed more interest in the wealthy kind of life, they still were able to be really good friends and when something happened to the other, they knew there was someone they could turn to and tell their problems and search for advices. Instead of turning to their parents when Will discovered he had powers, he went to his sister, the only one he trusted more than everybody else. "We were born from the same mother so the fact that we're different when it comes to species doesn't play that big of a roll in our lives" he added with a warm smile to the girl with red hair.
"You obviously know a lot."
"You can say I made my homework" he teased with a smirk, he was well aware of his knowledge and one of the things he hated most was to have conversations with stupid people that had no clue of what a book was. That was normally the time one could see him in his worst behavior, sending sarcastic comments in order to make the other feel bad with himself for having an IQ lower than what is considered...normal. "I know a lot of theory but that doesn't really cut it in real life." he added with a more faded smile.
"No for real real and not just for play play, I've never really had a 'boyfriend' per se. No, I've had suitors who fall off their noble steed. Especially the ones around here Most of the boys still haven't gotten it in their heads that races other than theirs exist. You try telling someone you're a vampire and their blood makes you live."
"Well... I don't have any problem with other races...If you know what I mean" he teased with a malicious smile, hot female demons weren't that abundant in that school but even if they were he had no problems to 'socialize' with other races. Vampires were normally a beautiful race, flawless as some might say and Avery was an example so he really didn't have any trouble in mixing races. As she asked him If he had any girlfriend, he just shook his head with a grin. When was the last time he had one? The first year there probably and that didn't go longer than 3 weeks. He was just no boyfriend material, he got bored easily and he seemed to have a natural ability to hurt the ones he actually enjoyed being with. "No" he replied simply, there really was no need to say anything else, that was basically it.
" Did you ever think of there being a downside to being a demon. One you don't exactly know about yet?"
Grinning he turned his gaze to her "All the time." he replied "You know what I think when people speak of demons? An evil version of a genius of the lamp" he half teased "Making people's wishes come true but taking their souls in return" disappearing, he appeared next to her "So, you want your husband to live?Very well, sign here." he disappeared again to appear on the other side of the girl "You want her to love you?No problem, sign right here, exactly. You'll be dammed for all eternity, it was a pleasure doing business with you rolling his eyes he went back to where he was and continued walking "It's rather stupid, I know, but I have no idea of what awaits me" he confessed with a small smile in his lips.
