x I sit in the light, to make the dark a little darker...Ana sighed as she looked up at the night sky, clearly visible from the top of the Bell tower. The girl, of course, was well aware that the place was off limits and all sorts of weirdos wandered around it at night but quite frankly, she couldn't care less. It's interesting and rather sad, how bold you become when you've got nothing to loose. And Ana definitely had nothing - no family, no home, no real life come to think of it. She always shut people out and made it through all the ups and downs of life alone. She was used to it. She was an orphan to begin with.....sort of.
She smiled as she saw the moon peeking out from behind a thick cloud. It seemed as though it would be cold again tomorrow, which would give Ana the perfect excuse to stay inside. For there were people, however unbelievable that may sound, who wanted to "hang out" with her. They said her fangs were cool and all sorts of useless and irritating flattering like that. Yeah, they were cool alright - thanks to them she was a murderer. And the irony was, she never really fully remembered what happened that day...Although some of the other students were complete nutcases, she doubted anyone had taken someone's life by accident. That was plain ridiculous. Yet so awfully real...
Ana sighed as she closed her eyes and leaned back on the wall, her fingers gripping it, her fingernails digging into the stone. It was times like these when she just sat and wondered who the hell she was? She didn't even have an idea of what she was.... Sad, really. Ana looked down at her feet, her combat boots torn in several places near the heal, of old age. Of course, she had tried working before she came to Castle Ayelet....but sooner or later someone found out about her powers and she was literally thrown out. How very encouraging.
The small Russian girl slid down the wall, sitting on the cold stone floor, her arms wrapped tightly around her knees. She stared off into space, thinking of some way out of this mess she called life. Nothing came to her mind, as usual. But she didn't give up. There certainly had to be something she could do....Change?....She bit her lip as she felt her hunger rise. This was not going to be pretty.

He'd walked that same flight of stairs time and time again. Up to the bell tower to overlook the grounds. In the past, his thoughts on the matter weren't so idle. Take tonight, for example--he was just bored. Before, he would've come with a purpose, then chickened out. Why? Because this was his school. It was practically his home. He couldn't very well do it there. No way, not with TK and Bliss and anyone else that cared about him still there. At home, maybe, because it would be different then.
Clearly, that hadn't worked out either, but that's not the point. He'd all but forgotten about his bell tower adventures until recently, when that Gloria girl had died. Or, jumped, whatever. It just felt a little.. close to home, so to speak.
Staring at the door that lead to open air, Kasen exhaled slowly, taking the few final steps to the door before emerging out into the night air. With his head tilted, he looked to the lumpy looking figure sitting there, trying to figure out who it was. All lumpy looking figures looked the same to him.
Upon realizing who it was, one word came to mind: "Shit." It was well known that he liked the girl--to the point where many would say it went farther. However, it didn't. It was just a crush. He'd have acted like that with anyone, Adalyn included. But now? On a dark night high up in the bell tower? Well, he probably looked a bit like a stalker. But why would he do that? Tracking the signal from her phone was just too boring, no fun.
Swallowing the lump in his throat, Kasen made to step back through the door, as quiet as possible so as not to alert the girl. But, he'd forgotten to duck. Being six foot four will thump your head pretty hard. "Fuck!" Not realizing he'd let it slip, he quickly covered his mouth.
Maybe he could go invisible. What? It could be like, a newly developed power or something.
No? Okay.

x I sit in the light, to make the dark a little darker...Ana was in deep thought when the door opened. She didn't really notice that someone was there. She had this way of blocking everyone and everything out when she was thinking. She was absent-minded by nature so it wasn't really something unexpected. Her eyes glued to the moon, she sighed softly as she ran her hands up and down her legs. It could get cold at night at the tower...
When she heard a loud thud, she turned around, jumping slightly at the noise. She heard a cursing and immediately recognized the voice. Their eyes made contact for a moment, before Ana looked away again. Yep, no doubt it was Kasen. She rolled her eyes as she looked down to her feet. It was kind of creepy how they always ended up in the same places. But then again, the school wasn't that big, it was always possible to meet someone when you least expect him. Looking on the bright side of things, at least it wasn't a teacher or someone that could get her into trouble.
She looked over at the guy again, her crystal eyes glazing over in the moonlight. She made no change in her facial expression, finding no need for it. She just glanced at him, her features completely straight. Maybe he had trouble sleeping and just came up for a breath of fresh air? That was what Ana always did. Her insomnia was killing her and there were times when she laid awake in her bed for hours at a time. Ana ran her fingers through her short hair as she glanced around. She couldn't find something to, which rolled the "pretending to be busy and not notice him" part out. So, she just sat there, waiting to see what would happen. Perhaps he would walk away. She found no point in that however, since she had already saw him. She just sighed and glanced at the door: - Don't do that too often, you'll get brain damage. - she said calmly, a small smirk prying on her lips.

Well, wasn't Ana just so coy, so smooth. So fucking aloof. Had it been anyone else he'd have been annoyed. But on her? Any other way and it wouldn't be right. Although, any other way and he wouldn't have liked her as much. (Don't tell her that, though.)
Rubbing his head, he crossed over with just a few steps, crouching down a few feet away from her. "Don't do that too often, you'll get brain damage." To this, Kasen rolled his eyes, once again rubbing his head. "It's not like I try to. I mean, it's kind of hard to avoid every door way when you're six foot four." Lucky him, huh? Yeah, he loved his height, but it had its down falls.
"So what are you doing up here this late?" With a yawn, the older of the two stretched his arms up and over his head, doing the same with his legs and letting them stretch to their full length. Despite the fact that it was late, and he was still tired, he still had no idea what time it was. So, discreetly (since he didn't really want to look like an idiot at this point) he pulled his phone from his pocket to check the time. One AM? Well, now he looked especially like some creepy stalker. But he wasn't going to bring it up unless she was.

x I sit in the light, to make the dark a little darker... Ana smirked at Kasen's reply and just shrugged her shoulders. She never did have problems with her 5"1. It wasn't something she enjoyed in particular, because she always had to ask someone to get her stuff off the high shelves or just climb on a chair to do it herself. In moments like these however, she was glad she inherited her mother on that part. - You should invent something thet tells you when you're about to hit your head. - she said with low chuckle. Unlike her, Kasen had a way with technology. Another difference. It seemed as though they never ended, didn't it?
Ana looked to the side as he asked her why she was here this late: - Insomnia. - she answered with a shrug of her shoulders as sh mildly tilted her head to the side. The insomnia was only half of the reason though. The other was her amnesia, or rather, trying to cope with her and remember certain things from the past. She smiled bitterly, looking down at the ground. It was ridiculous - she couldn't even remember how her parents looked. She looked back at Kasen, snapping out of her thoughts: - You? - she asked the human boy as she leaned back on the word, letting her hands drop from her knees.
It was like there was someone, who purposely pushed them in the same room everytime. What was it now - one-two a.m and they somehow found themselves at the tower. Both of them. It was creepy but Ana didn't think Kasen had done it on purpose. He wasn't a stalker, was he? She shooked her head, replying to her own mental question. He was too sensible to be. But he didn't give up either. It was something in between. And though it bugged Ana, it didn't bug her enough to leave the tower. She came first after all.

"Something to do that?" Kasen scratched at his head, rolling his eyes. "Why didn't I think of that sooner? Got anymore ideas I can nab?" He smirked, looking to her briefly. Any less brief and he'd likely stop and stare like an idiot.
Really, he wasn't completely sure why he'd come up. The whole thing about Gloria had been bugging him, despite the fact that he'd never really met the girl. She'd stolen his idea. Or, whoever had killed her stole his idea. He really didn't see why it should've bothered him, but it did. And then, wouldn't you know it, the fact that it was bothering him was bothering him as well. "I'm not entirely sure." He shrugged his shoulders, once again glancing over to her. "I just kinda felt like it. Bad dream." You liar. He hadn't slept at all, though truth be told, he wasn't tired in the least. Five or so energy drinks a day will do that to a guy. "I was going to work on this new... thing, but I didn't feel like it."
This new 'thing' was a new pair of glasses. It was more than a thing, sure, but he always called those sorts of stuff things. He didn't like explaining them to people unless they asked--hence, 'thing.' Why explain it unless they asked? It would've just been annoying otherwise.
Getting a little antsy (once again, returning to his reasons for being there about a year ago), Kasen wiggled his toes before pulling his knees to his chest. Don't look, he thought to himself, straining his neck to look at the edge of the railing. "So, what do you do up here?"

x I sit in the light, to make the dark a little darker... - Nope, but I wouldn't mind if you find a way around poisonous teeth. - she said with a smirk. She actually hoped she would, someday. It was really bothering her, she hadn't eaten, in the vampire meaning of the word, for a while now, because she was afraid she would killed whoever she fed off. She couldn't control the stupid poison. It just...Ah, Any didn't even know how it worked exactly.
She looked over at Kasen and chuckled: - Thing? Like peanut butter and jelly sandwich thing or like a computer thing? - she asked calmly. If he wanted to tell, he would. She had no problem with talking to him, as long as it wasn't on the "I like you" topic. That topic bugged her greatly. She was never the one to go around and that was why she found no meaning in relationships. Two people, living off each others' backs - how wonderful!
- And what kind of dream was it? - she asked raising an eyebrow and looking Kasen directly in the eyes. She was just curious, what dream would keep a person awake and torture him so. Any didn't dream. And it were times like these that made her glad she didn't. All she needed after the insomnia was nightmares. When she actually managed to fall asleep, she slept like a log. Even an earthquake couldn't disturb her.
Any took out her iPod from the back pocket of her jeans and set it on the ground next to her: - Listen to music. - she answered, pointing at the player. - Or think. Well, she mostly did both things at the same time. Music was a very important part of Any's life because it not only helped her concentrate on the problem at hand but also eased her mind and helped her relax. She was, you could say, a music addict.

"I don't really know if I could do that, sorry." He didn't entirely see how technology could do that--I mean, he wasn't a doctor. That kind of thing wasn't his forte. "Just these like," he paused, biting down on his cheek as he struggled for the words. "A pair of glasses. Like, super glasses or something. That spies would use." He wouldn't say it, he never ever would, but he would still try and sell his tinkerings.
Seeing as he hadn't actually had any sort of night mare, he struggled with a solution. What else was there to do but make one up? Okay, so, not make one up. But recycling was a good thing nowadays, right? "I was just sitting in the dark, and my dad came in and told me my brother was dead, then my mom came and told me the same about my dad. It kept happening until my brother came and told me I was dead," he murmured, his voice dropping with every few words. While he hadn't actually dreamed it recently, remembering it was enough to do the trick.
Kasen took his phone from his pocket, staring at the time on the face. Great. Now he was almost too creeped out to sleep. Looking over to Ana, he tilted his head to the side curiously. "I mean, aren't you afraid of heights or something?" Once more, he tilted his head over the edge, raising an eyebrow. "Or, I don't know, weird freakishly tall guys?"

x I sit in the light, to make the dark a little darker... - Yeah....no problem, most people have no answer to that. - she said shrugging calmly. It really was so but it discouraged her greatly when really brilliant people couldn't figure it out. Kasen wasn't a genius, he was just very very smart in Any's oppinion. She had to give him that. When he mentioned the glasses, she smirked and raised an eyebrow at the boy: - Oh, are you going to test them by spying on people? - she asked snickering as she imagined him lurking around, observing people like some kind of stalker. She was only teasing him, though, she never thought him capable of such insanity. As much as she hated to admit it, he was a nice guy. She just didn't think she could last in a relationship. Plus, he was a flirt. So how could his interest for her be any different than the occasional fling?....
Any listened patiently to his description of the nightmare he had had, nodding every now and then. She almost felt sorry for him. It sounded really awful. Any had no idea if her father was still alive or not but if he was, she would never want to see him die. And he didn't have to - he was a pureblood, that's what everyone said. She was only half vampire so she figured she would die before him. Although nymphs also lived a couple hundred years it was nothing compared to a vampire's lifespan...Ana sighed as she thought of her family. Did they love each other, when her mother was still alive? Was Any planned or was it just a teenage mistake? How did her parents even came to be, they sounded so different from each other...Now was not the time to think on that however, as she snapped out of her thoughts and glanced at Kasen. It seemed as though he was avoiding her eyes. Was she making him feel nervous? It would have bugged her if she did...
- Neither. Hights I can handle. And so can I handle weird guys. - she said smirking at him. - You now the old vampire nymph saying - the bigger they are, the harder I bite. - she said snickering, although this really was her motto. She was not joking. - Aren't you afraid of short poisonous girls of mixed race? - she asked with a low chuckle as her eyes sparkled mischievously at him.
