Let’s Drop!
So this is what it felt like to get all dressed up…Xio stared at the girl in the mirror. She looked so different. She felt the same but now she was in a dress and her hair was fixed up. All four of her roommates had gotten a bit excited with giving her tips and tell her to do this and that and eventually took over and did her makeup for her, then her hair. She didn’t mind one bit. She basically sucked at doing makeup, so they were saving her. She cleaned up pretty good. A complete transformation from the girl she looked liked every day. The pretty black dress hugged her in all the right spots (not that she really had any) and was short enough to make her look ‘sexy’ without making her look like a whore. These shoes though…she had a feeling she was going to fall at least once tonight. Heels were not her thing. It was cool though, because she was taking converse because the first time she fell, she decided she was taking them off. She was filled up to the brim with nerves in hope that Evan liked her dress or thought she looked nice. Not only that but she was heavily worried about the whole dancing part. She didn’t dance…well. All kinds of things kept coming to mind and alarming her. Was this like a date? Did he like her like that? Did she like him? Yes. No. Maybe. Crap.
Xio groaned and turned back to her purse on the bed. She shoved some money into her wallet and put all the makeup the girls had given her ‘in case she needed it’ into her makeup bag. Her cell phone went in too, and so did some perfume and her ipod just in case it turned out to be completely horrible. And her gloves too. She gazed them, folded neatly into each other. She wasn’t planning on wearing them. Believe it or not she was beginning to control her powers better. After weeks of going to classes that sometimes ended up lasting three hours, and working with one of the professors, she could actually not hurt a person if she concentrated and used enough will power. She was so excited that maybe she might actually be able to touch Evan and not hurt him. She hadn’t told anyone yet, the thought of accidentally injuring someone terrified her. The real question was would she strong enough to control it all night? She swallowed the lump in her throat and bit her lip. She was going to try.
She gazed around the room, wondering if there was anything else she needed to do. Everything seemed okay. She had everything she needed in her purse and she had still about twenty minutes to spare. All that was left was her mask, but she would wait till Evan arrived to put it on. Yeah, that was most nerve racking part. He was coming to her dorm to pick her up. Like a real date. The thought of him, dressed up for her, coming to get her made her throat dry up, her hands shaky. She took a deep breath and took a seat on her bed, glad her roommates had already left. Even Dani had gone to finish getting ready somewhere else. She didn’t want them seeing how nervous she looked. Xio glanced at the clock. He would be here ay minute and her heart was already hammering against her ribcage.

I'll take you home if you don't leave me at the front door.
Evan sighed deeply, his stomach twisting and turning this way and that. He stared at himself in the mirror in his dorm, worrying constantly about his appearance. That would be the gay side of him, he concluded. But that shouldn't matter. No, no, no, it didn't matter. All he wanted to do was sort of impress Xio. Was it that bad? Okay, possibly it was.
His outfit, after much revision, consisted of a plain black tux. Nothing special, nothing amazing. Seriously. It was, after much fuss with his sister, the only thing he could find. But it suited him well. Much better than his other outfit. The aforementioned outfit was, technically, nonexistent. Oh yeah. Naked. Some of the other boys and himself planned to go to the dance in the nude, but after fighting Adalyn for nearly an hour, Evan finally gave up that plan. And it was probably for the best.
His mask, however, was a little bit more exciting. But not by much. The plain, black matte velvet complimented the color of his skin, or so Adalyn said. The feather, however, also black, was just an add-on Evan liked a lot. So he wouldn't have it any other way. Typical Evan Warner.
His hair, the part he wasted most of his time on, looked no different than any other day. Wavy, but not curly nor straight. And messy, but not crazy. Perfect, really. Or, well, rather as close to perfect as Evan could achieve.
As he made his way out of his dorm, he debated on bringing Xio a flower. Sure, it seemed a little cliche and a little out there, but he thought it would be a nice gesture. Then again, he thought that it might be a little over the top and too weird for her. So he thought that he'd best hold off.
When he got outside Xio's dorm, he was pretty sure he swallowed a million butterflies and those million butterflies had babies. He was so nervous, his hands were shaking. As Evan reached a hand up to the door, he paused. He mulled it over in his head, seriously wondering if this was such a good idea. Yeah, he liked her a lot, he'll admit it. But the nervousness was eating away at him and he wanted to run right now while he was still ahead. But he couldn't do that, not to Xio.
So he knocked on the door a few solid times and waited for their night to begin.

You're lips tremble but you're eyes are in a straight stare
Time seemed to go by way too fast for Xio. She wanted it to slow down, just a little bit and fate was taunting her. What if she messed this up? What if she hurt him in not wearing her gloves? There were so many possibilities that it scared her because all she wanted to do was be normal and go to the dance with him. And normal here was never normal at all, so she was basically screwed. She had to keep telling herself to relax just so she wouldn’t start shaking in nervousness. She hadn’t been this anxious since she moved here. Things had slowly begun to progress and now she felt like she was back at square one and she wouldn’t know what to say if he simply said ‘hi’ to her.
Oh crap! Xio nearly jumped in her skin at the sound of someone knocking on her door. She almost turned the lock and headed to hide but she knew that would be too mean. Honestly, she told herself. It won’t be that. It’s just a dance. Chill. Her hand grazed the lock but turned the knob instead and let the door open. She was trying hard not to look so scared. “Evan,” she breathed with a smile, her heart pounded against her chest. He looked good. No, strike that, he looked gorgeous. Just like every day. She blushed at the simple sigh of him. What did he think of her? She struggled for the right words. “You look handsome.” She whispered and wanted to kick herself. He did, but she didn’t have to say it so stupidly! And letting him into the dorm would probably be nice too. She stepped to the side and smiled shyly. "Er...sorry. Come in." She waved a hand careless at her dorm.
[[Meh. I got distracted when writing this. Sorry its so short. >_<]]

"I saw you dancing and I couldn't get you off my mind."
The moment she opened the door, Evan could have sworn he lost his breath. She looked absolutely beautiful and Evan, no matter how hard he tried, probably wouldn't be able to keep his inevitable stutter to a minimum. He was mesmerized with her until her words broke his thoughts. He blushed profusely, unable to stop himself. He looked down at the floor for a second, unable to collect his words.
"And you look very beautiful," he said with a small smile as he stepped inside of the dorm. It wasn't much different than his own, really. Except for the fact it was much less messy and it was a tad bit more feminine. But not by much, considering that a good fraction of his dorm was homosexual, partially or more. Still, that didn't make the room any less messy. He inwardly laughed at this quick thought before pushing it away.
He looked back at her, a large smile adorning his face. Evan stuck his arm out in an awkward fashion, gesturing for her to hook his arm with hers. His whole arm was covered with the sleeve of his tuxedo, so neither one of them needed to worry about the whole Xio-can't-touch-people factor. "Shall we, then?" he asked with a smile, his nerves making his limbs shake slightly, but not enough for her to notice unless she really paid attention.

And I was thinking of ways that I could get inside
She struggled to say ‘thank you’ him and bit her lip. She wished she hadn’t shown her room now. It was all messy and most of it wasn’t hers. And of course, for a split second thoughts that weren’t supposed to be there passed through Xio’s mind and the image of Evan on bed made her blush because the thought of him on her bed lead to the thought of what he looked like underneath his suit and that was a place she needed to stop thinking of. She wasn’t dirty minded in the least but really, who would not think about that even for a spilt second. Look at him! That and its not like she would ever be able to do more than look at guy like him (even if she wanted to) so she quickly pushed those thoughts aside. She took a breath and nodded to herself. Yep, this was her room. Nothing special about it.
She gladly but cautiously took his arm and smiled up at him. Hell yeah, we will. She was excited. She was nervous. She was ready to have fun. He looked a hella lot more confident then she felt--or looked, for that matter but it was fine. The nerves would disappear in a few minutes. “Let’s--oh, wait,” She ran back to her dresser and grabbed her mask. Duh. She was going to need this if she wanted to get into the party. “Um…could you help tie this on?” She held the mask out to Evan and turned her back to him to face the mirror. It wasn’t one the elastic ones so she couldn’t put it on herself, she needed someone to tie it for her. She gazed at the boy behind her through the mirror smiled at him. It was hard to tear her eyes away from his.

"tonight you're falling in love" Evan nodded, taking the mask from her hands. He gently placed the mask over her nose, carefully drawing the ties behind her head. With shaking fingers, he tied the ribbon pieces together, taking great care not to lace them too tightly. He locked his eyes with hers in the mirror, smiling gently. Tenderly, he turned her around to face him, his hand on the small of her back, pulling them closer together. His heart pounded rapidly in his chest with how close they were, he was pretty sure Xio could have heard it, if not, felt it. He stared at her for a moment, taking in this closeness that he achieved accidently. Carefully, he brushed a few strands of hair away from her mask and out of her eyes. He studied her face, taking in her features; her beauty. His eyes danced over her eyes, her nose and fell on her lips. He gazed upon them for a moment, fighting off the sudden urge to kiss her then and there. He knew better than to do that. With the thought still playing in his head, his gaze fell to behind her head towards the beds. Of course, like all boys his age, he couldn't help but wonder or think about stuff like that. But he wouldn't now. Not to Xio. He couldn't find it in his heart to even think about that. Returning back to reality, he smiled, blushing slightly as he slowly moved away, hands falling to his sides again. Evan looked away for a moment, completely embarrassed for his actions. He hadn't meant to put them in that situation but in the back of his mind, he wouldn't have had it any other way. He let out an awkward cough before smiling shyly at her, bringing his arm back up to that awkward position it was in before. "Now," he said with a grin, "Shall we?"[/blockquote][/size]

Now if sher moves like this will you move her like that?
Shivers ran up and down her spine at the barest hint of touch. How did he do that? Xio stood very still; heart pounding against her ribcage; afraid to even breathe too hard. Looking relaxed was proving to be a difficult feat for her. She was so nervous and they weren’t even at the dance yet. Forget the dance! She wouldn’t have cared if he chose to stand in this same spot, this close to her, all night. It had to be unfair the way his eyes smoldered like that. That or he had to know what it did t her. Another chill passed through her body. His hand held the small of her back and she let him turn her to face him and she almost stopped breathing, literally.
She could remember the first time they had ever been close. When she first met him in the bell tower and she had turned to face him; ending up just a bit too close. It was much like that only more…heart stopping. Her hands were shaking, her lungs didn’t seem to be functioning properly. Her mouth was dry from the surprise of being so close. No, I guess it wasn’t like the first time they met. This was much better. Was he trying to kill her? A pink, almost red shade of shyness faded into her cheeks. She liked it; the way he was looking at her. Almost like he wanted to….no..Xio pushed the thought out of her mind. Like he would ever want to kiss her. she knew better than to hope for it, and he knew better than to do so. She was getting better with her abilities but how much better? Enough to be that close? The thought alone made her wish he would but she knew it was only wishful thinking. Those kinds of things didn’t happen to her. She had already accepted this a long time ago, there was use in dredging up these kinds of desires of building up false hopes only have them shattered. Xio smiled a small smile and blinked a few times. Silly boy. He obviously didn’t know what kind of effect he had on her.
“Let’s,” Xio replied, linking arms with Evan. Was it possible for someone to be this happy? As cheesy as it sounded, this really was so far one of the best nights of her life and it hadn’t even begun really. Maybe Winterthorne hadn’t been such a bad idea after all. Xio tugged Evan playfully out of the dorm and cut the lights and locked the room. “Race you to….er…outside?” Were the walking…or riding? Either way, she took of in cautious but quick jog towards the door. Screw the dress. She was going to have fun.

"I was thinking of ways that you would stay and be mine"
It was almost crazy and mind boggling how comfortable they have become with one another. Despite their random patches of shyness, they were so completely comfortable with their words, their actions; they were just so natural with one another. Evan couldn’t help but smile at the mere thought. He couldn’t remember the last time he was so laid back and playful with someone. Sure, he has been this way before, but not to this extent. He wasn’t afraid to be himself. He wasn’t scared of letting his feelings slip out into the open. He felt like himself.
He was so caught up in his thought he almost didn’t realize Xio had took off without him. Almost. He broke out into a grin as he sprinted down the hall after her. As he came up behind her, Evan jumped the distance between them and wrapped his arms around her waist, hoping to stop her before she got too far. He couldn’t help but laugh during the whole occurrence, spinning her around, his arms firmly wrapped around her.
“No running,” he said, exhaling heavily and maybe a little bit too dramatically. “I’m too fat to run,” he said with a laugh, releasing her from his hold. “I may fall over with a heart attack,” he laughed, poking his stomach and frowning down at it slightly. He laughed, smiling up at her. “Now,” Evan said, nudging her slightly, “Off to the Secret.” He opened the door to her, giving her a gentle push through.
The walk to the Secret wasn’t awkward; not in the least. They talked quite a bit so the walk there didn’t seem quite as long. When they got there, Evan led her inside, opening the door for her. But when they got inside, he stopped, looking around. “Holy shit,” he mumbled, “This place is huge.”

This feeling's tearing me up
Shyness was such an expected emotion when it came to Xio. When you saw her, the way she stood, the way she looked, you just wouldn’t expect her to have much of a personality or anything to say really, but it wasn’t that way at all. Here was someone who she could actually be herself with (Other than Ivan) who liked her. He did like her, right? She felt like he did, but you never know…Anyway, it was almost astonishing. She had been this comfortable with being around a guy and feeling this way. If she could have, she would been all over him and flirting. (okay, not ALL over him, but yeah…) At first, she had been really shy about everything. She had been scared to say anything at all in fear of sounding stupid. Now, she didn’t mind making jokes and joking around with him one bit.
Xio sprinted down the hall, her hands holding her dress down so it would fly up. A smiled danced on her lips and she glanced back to see Evan realize she was gone and run after her. She giggled, and kept moving. A squeal escaped her lips at Evan’s touch. Her stomach leaped and laughed, her hands on Evan’s so that he half wouldn’t let her fall and half wouldn’t let her go. “Put me down!” She cried, wishing the complete oppsitte. “You better not drop me!” In reality, she had never felt so secure in her as she did now with Evan wrapped around her this way. The room spun before her and giggled, halfway out of breath. “But if I don’t run, how will I get away from you?” She asked, smiling sweetly. She leaned back into him, her hands still on his.
She turned to face him as soon as he let her go and poked his stomach too. “Oh, please,” she rolled her eyes. “You’re probably skinnier than I am.” He probably was. That boy was ridiculously thin. Xio wrinkled her nose at him and poked his cheek. “Actually, I take it back…I don’t want you have a heart attack.” She batted her long eye lashes at the boy and smiled. “Kidddinnnng,” she sang and passed through the door. “Gracias,” She took his arm again as they headed to the Secret.
She rather enjoyed the walk to the secret. It was fun and full or jokes and flirting. She hadn’t blushed or made a fool or herself the entire time and it was so was just…relaxed. It was hard to be happy when she was around Evan. She didn’t even have to think about saying the ‘right thing’, she just spoke naturally and had fun. It made the walk seem like two minutes long and she almost wish they could stay out here and talk a little longer. But then, they could talk inside so there was no reason to freeze to death. The dance was nothing like she had imagined. She had only been to The Secret once and it had looked nothing like this. This was amazing. There were people everyone, she had never seen so many in once place in her life. The music was actually good and there were lights flashing everywhere. Xio’s self conscienness came back and gripped her hold on Evan’s hand. “Yeah…” She mumbled. So many people made her fall back to discomfort. Most of them, she didn’t know. “Er…Wanna dance, or sit down first?” Either way, as long as they were together.
