[shadow=red,right,200]Melody slunk back into the room a few minutes later with an empty basket. Being sure not to disturb Xio. She walked slowly into her room. She could walk to class, and get there early for once. No. She didn't feel like doing anything today. She felt completely and totally sick. She'd go shopping and that would be it. Even then all she needed right now was a nap. She sighed and walked out into the living room and towards the small counter. Finding an advil and popping it into her mouth and taking a sip of water from a bottle she found unopened on the counter too. She sighed out of boredom and looked around. Wondering what to do. Well, she could write. But that was too cleshe.
She sighed and walked back into her room. Sitting on her bed and trying to fall asleep. Ugh. How could she? No matter how many meds she took she still felt shitty. Everything in this world sucked. She seriously just wanted to start over. Maybe she could be a girl who was popular and perfect. And even if it wasn't real. Always felt happy. Naw, that'd suck too. Where the fuck was her stupid Happy Medium? [/shadow]

Okay, this was NOT working. In fact, the tension was only growing more and they weren’t even in the same room! “Ugh,” she groaned. This is so stupid. I think I liked it better when we were fighting. At least then I didn’t have to worry about feeling bad and exposed and wondering what the right thing to do is. Perhaps she should go for walk? She really wanted to call Ivan and have him come over and make her feel better but again, he was probably still asleep and now she actually cared about whether that would bother Mel. Xio almost jumped. She hadn’t even see Mel come out of her room for a drink of water. Dude, this is so weird. She eyed Mel from the corner of her eye and sighed. God she hated this. She hated that she felt so exposed. All of her problems and issues were out there now and it Mel knew about it all.
True, she shouldn’t have given a flying fuck who knew what about her, or what they thought but she did anyway. She hated being judged and putting yourself out there like that had ‘judge me’ written allll over it. Xio sighed and sat back, wishing she had the gift of invisibility. There was nothing to do and she felt like Mel was waiting for her to say something, anything.
[[sorry. I can’t seem to find my muse….-looks around with shifty eyes- He was just here…]]

Melody sighed as she caught a glimpse of Xio again. She sighed and walked back into her room and searched through her closet and sighed as she found the perfect thing. She sat down on her bed and debated whether or not to give them to Xio. Worst thing possible- Xio rips them up, Best thing- they end up like a happy disney movie and friends and such. Hmm, the ripping didn't sound like something Xio would do, so Melody took deep breath and trotted out her door. She flopped down next to Xio again and said quickly explaining herself. "Well, I found these in my closet and thought they might help to give you something to change to." She handed out the black gloves tenderly. They were thick enough to protect from whatever this thing Xio had with her skin, yet were amazingly cute and so much better then the ones she usually sported. "I figured they'd be better then the other ones and you could wear them with jeans and a sweat shirt or something..." Fuck this was hard. But why the hell is it? Melody was only being kind and attempting to possibly give Xio a little more pizazz, not that she wasn't pretty or whatever. But Mel couldn't help but let her mind wander to things she could do with the girls hair to make it look just a tad bit better. And the clothes too, it wasn't that she looked horrible or anything. But she could look better. Melody strived to always appear presentable. While Xio seemed to be sort of 'fuck it' about the term. Now, Melody could totally accept that, and somewhat envied her for it, but she still wished Xio would just try or let Melody try just Once. Oh well, maybe the gloves she held out would help. "I know you probably don't like pink much but.." Her voice trailed off.

Okay, she thought. I need to think of something. Anything. She had to try and make some effort to be nice otherwise this silence crap was going to kill her. But what could she do? She and Melody had nothing in common whatsoever. No music, no style…nothing. Xio grumbled as she stood and headed for the mini fridge/freezer they had. Ice cream always helped her think better. No, seriously! It did! She dug through the boxes and ice and happily pulled out a popsicle. Yum. She almost skipped back to the couch! See how well it works? She would have skipped, but she caught herself in time. No reason to look stupid when there was no was around too. Psh. Yeah, right. She was talking to her ice cream. That was just plain stupid. “Okay, Mr. Popsicle. I am eating you now and there is nothing you can do about it.” She licked her ice cream and sat back, feeling better already. She was about to lick it again when she froze, in mid air and raised an eyebrow at Melody.
"Well, I found these in my closet and thought they might help to give you something to change to."
“Uhh, thanks,” Xio blinked. She was confused at first and it didn’t really register what Melody was giving her until after a few seconds. Xio looked down at the gloves and studied them. They were pretty. And random. Xio smiled up at Melody. “Wow…thanks,” She touched the gloves softly. It was a really nice gift. No one had ever given her something like this. Sure, they were just gloves, but that was it…they were gloves. And can you imagine how important gloves are to her?
Xio looked up at Melody again and grinned. “You didn’t have to…” She trailed off. Pink wasn’t really her color but it was the thought that counted. “Thanks,” She said again. “I really appreciate them, Melody.” She thought for a moment. “Now all I need to go shopping! ‘Cause I don’t exactly anything pink…” Okay, so she didn’t like shopping much. But she was going to suck it up and be nice and invite her anyway because she was trying and so was Xio.

Melody smiled. As Xio accepted them. She was going to weasle her way into making this girl look perfect if it killed her...Which it probably would. She respected her whole sight on how fashion was just a small thing, but she was roomates with Melody now. She'd have to manage.
At the mere mention of shopping Mel had to strain to keep from bouncing into her normal happy mode on a shopping day. She was sure that this wouldn't escalate to that much of a nirvana for her. She said simply "I'm sure that they'd match with just like, jeans and shirt." She smiled sweetly. Okay, she felt better now. Hah. Sue her.

“So…er..would you like to go shopping with me?” Xio had to force the words out of her mouth. She still wasn’t used to being nice to Melody, for one. And two, she hated shopping. She despised it. Plus she only went when she absolutely had to go. Other then that there was no reason to go because she didn’t like to going alone. So now, she admit it, but it was going to be even more awkward because Mel was coming. Was she going to try and make her buy things…like pink things? And glittery stuff? Xio shuddered at the thought and came back to reality. “Heh. It’ll be, ya know, fun…”
Gah. Just the thought of shopping alone made her depressed. She never seemed to find anything when she went. Everything always looked like crap on her. Sure, she had money. Not a ginormous amount, but enough to buy nice things. Her parents had at least given her that much. Money in exchange of not having to talk to her. Great, huh? She sat quietly, waiting for Mel’s answer. Part of secretly hoped she said she was busy or no or something. Xio just didn’t like shopping.
