The young girl glanced up at the celiening of the library. It was huge. One of the largest libraries she has ever seen. Even the castles library in her old home wasn't this large. A black cloak hung around her shoulders as her dark skinned hands reached up to a thick book. Her fingers wrapped around it, and she smiled with awe. On the cover of the book was one of her most favorite books, Utopia. She gently opened the leather covered bind and ran her fingers over the crinkled pages. Her blue and green eyes ran over the words as she headed to one of the tables. She sat down and pulled the cloak off of her shoulders and lay it beside her. Dark skin showed under her shirt, a white tube top, and scars could be seen under her blonde hair. Scars of rope burn around her neck. A large sapphire pendant hung around her collar bone as her fingers gently played with a gold band around her ring finger.
The black and green chunk of hair fell into her eyes and she pushed it away with frustration. Why are you sitting here all by yourself? came a small voice. Looking around, she noticed a small mouse sitting under her foot. She must have not been paying attention, or she would ahve felt the small creatures presence in her mind. Reaching down, she picked up the mouse gently and held him at her eyes. " I like to sit by myself. I have no friends here, so why sit with them?" she asked him with a soft, melodic voice. You have us., he added with a small squeak. Smiling, she nodded.
"I will always have the People as my friends, but even one as me, I need human friends too. It's just, no one knows me or likes me. Plus, its not every day that you see a fifteen year old girl talking to a mouse like its a person." what she stated was true. It's not everday you pass by a female holding a mouse, and talking to it at the same time. "It's okay my little rodent friend. I'm never truly alone." his nose twitched as his small intelligent eyes watched her. Well, yes, that is true. Now I will be on my way. Family too feed. she gently placed him on the floor, and watched hte little mouse scurry along the ground with a smile on her face.

It felt just like home except no yard, no grass, no pictures... Avery had wandered out of her dorm room in search of a good book. Seeing Will reading had wanted her to learn more about the other species she shared her 'home' with. This was her home now. Her friends were here, her bed where she layed to sleep...if she did sleep. Which she never really 'needed' to sleep. Being the undead gave you certain abilities. As Ava neared the library a small melodic voice drifted down the corridor. Most probably wouldn't have heard it from this far away but Avery had superhuman hearing. A gift when being turned into something more than human. She couldn't even call herself human now. She was a being condemned to hell, to wonder this planet until she was killed. But the voice, that had got her on this train of thought was seemingly talking to herself. Yes a girl's voice.
Avery hurried closer to get a better sense of what was happening. She peaked her head into the library and followed the voice, to better ascertain what was going on. Surely this place had turned into an insane asylum while she was out earlier this morning. No that didn't seem likely, of course it would work out perfectly. Maybe they were all dreaming they had these magnificent powers and were being detained in an insane asylum, it would make life easier. But that was certainly not the case. This many people wouldn't have the same deranged thought process. The fiery red head slowly peeked around a bookshelf to find the girl talking to a mouse. Just in time to see the mouse seemingly nod and scurry off to go somewhere about it business. Filthy creatures. An animal whisper...how nice.
"So you talk to animals? At first I thought you might of just been a crazy one..." Avery smirked. she hadn't meant her words to sound so biting. Probably not the best ways to make friends, but emotions ruled this little ones world. Being a vampire gave you weird ass mood swings. It happens. "What was the mousy wousy saying to you?" She really was intrigued, and it was now that the smell was settling just under her nose. This girl was a human. She could almost feel the pulse of blood in the girl's veins, how lucky she was to still have a pulse. At that moment Avery turned slightly envious. Her eyes hardening slightly, as if looking down on a prey. But she would never feed on a human, it was..ha...inhumane.

Kjara knew the girl was coming. She could feel her every move, but the words that came out of her mouth stung Kjara's heart, and she looked up at the girl with a scowl on her face. " That mousy wousy was telling me not to be alone. And I was telling him the reason why I don't spend time with other people is becuase they always act like you." she spat at the girl. A fiery red hair covered this girls skull and bright red lips puckered from her face. Kjara was instantly envious. Although she has heard that Kjara was beautiful, she never believed one word that was said about her. The hiar stood on the back of her neck, and animal instincts told her that this one was bad. Kjara glanced up at the girl again, envy filling her blood all over again. Why can't I be that beautiful.. she though to herself quietly.
Now I see why my brother warned me about this place. Maybe he was right. Full of stuck up pricks. a snarl came to her lips as she looked the girl over. Turning away, she went back to the book she was reading, and pushed out any thought that would pop up in her mind. The girl that was near her was now gone in her mind, and she was wrapped up in Utopia. How she wanted to live in a perfect world, but to her, there was no suck thing as perfect. And if there was, Kjara was surly not able to reside near that place. If it existed. She shook her head to rid all the thoughts.
A soft flutter of wings caught her attention as her mind tingled. Ignoring the pigeon, she tried to continue reading. Unable to conentrate with the girl nearby, she grabbed her book and stood up, revealing a denmin jean mini kirt with the white tube top. Dark, muscled, and short legs poked out with black highheeled boots. Grabbing her black jacket, she started to head away from the girl. That girl smelled strange to her. Like Kjara was the prey and the girl was the predator. She shivered at the thought and rubbed her neck as the scars prickled. The feeling of the raised skin brought back the memories of having that terrible rope around her neck. It was so tight that she was having trouble breathing. Suddnely she wasen't at the school anymore.
She was insdie a strange looking shack filled with the horrid smell of unwashed men and uncountable things. Ropes were tied around her wrists, ankles, and her neck. She was struggling as men held her down stripping off her clothes and covering her mouth so she wasen't able to breathe. Pain was erupting all over her body as they foreced her and beath her till she was covered in blood. The whole time the words "ugly abomination" was being screamed at her. Tears were streaming down her cheeks and stining the cuts that were inflicted by fists of the men.
Stop Kjara. she told herself bodly as her breaht caught in her hroat. That's the past. Thoses men will never touch you again. You made sure of that. and the thought of them gone made her shudder. Her out of control moods saved her, but killed others. With a trembling body, she started walking again.

It felt just like home except no yard, no grass, no pictures... Avery was taken aback by the string of angry words that came from the girls mouth. Okay sure, Avery hadn't been the nicest about the little situation. But the girl's power was cool...except for like what if you stepped on a bug and it screamed while you stepped on it. Weird...Avery wouldn't be able to deal with that. Never would she be able to kill a bug again, hell she could hardly harm a fly now. She didn't like the squishing or popping noises bugs made...when flattened. No killing bugs was not her specialty. Nasty little buggers. Had Avery really acted so meanly towards the girl? Was there a specific reason for it?
Ava was about to say something, stop the girl from going when it looked like there was something wrong with the girl. She had stopped in her tracks, and was trembling slightly...should she call for help. Wait Avery could heal if anything was seriously damaged on the girl she could just use her power and make everything better. But before another thought could pass through Avery's overractive mind the girl seemed to shake whatever it was off, and continued to walk away from the situation that seemed to have gotten out of hand.
"Hey listen, are you okay?" Avery was actually concerned. As much as this girl obviously didn't like Avery, (partly Ava's fault.) the red head didn't like to see anyone in pain. It was why she had her healing power. Being cooped up in her own little castle she'd seen so many people in pain, including animals, and the elder servants. She'd always cared for them, and as an extension of that her power as a vampire was healing. Go figure right. The ability to destroy with a flick of her wrist, the wrong twitch of her finger, and the ability to make it all go away. Cure it.

" Hey, listen,Are you okay?" came the words fromt he girl the snapped at earlier. Turning to the girl, fear in her eyes, she nodded slightly. " Memories. They get to me too much. I don't get over things easily." a slight smile came to her lips as she looked over the girl again. Gods curse you allf or making beautiful people. her blonde hair fell straight over her shoulders and curled slightly on the ends. The tatoos on her left and right cheek looked strange, like tribal symbols. On her left cheek was three bars; one blue, one black, and one green. On her right cheek, sprouting from the corner of her blue eye was spirlas that looked closely like a wing, but spirals off each other like a tree root. The three sapphires twinkled in the light as she started to walk back towards the girl, tense but slightly calm.
The small voices came in her head again, the conversations of passing birds, the arugement of a squirell and a raven over a tree they were roosting in. Her eyes were unfoucused as she listened to the animals. In the distance, a wolf howled, and Kjara's head jerked up towards a windo that showed the toutside. In her head, she told the wolf quietly, Run my brother. This is no place for one of you. the wolf had heard her presence, thinking of her as a litter mate, and wanted to come say hello. But the warning come out clearly and he fled and was out of Kjara's range soon.
Her attention was brought back to the girl and she smiled this time, one that was in her eyes. " I hope I didn't seem rude earlier. I'm not used to.. humans all that much. Although I am one myself, I tend to be called an animal. What are you?" she asked curiously. She still had a smile on her face, and she took one step back to give the girl more of a comforting space. " I honestly hope you didn't intentionally mean those words." her brows furrowed with concentration as she watched the girl.

It felt just like home except no yard, no grass, no pictures... "Possibly the words forget regret come to mind here, or....Don't live in the past. But whatever, as long as you're okay." Avery smiled. One thing she didn't need was an enemy. Considering Avery was an enemy all upon herself. Avery watched the girl seem to go into a slight daze. Zone out really like she was concentrating on another conversation. Well there were tons of animals out near the castle, so it was a possibility that every animal within range was barraging the poor girl, and they didn't even know they were doing it. But maybe she had learned to deal with it, and accepted it. Avery wouldn't ever be able to do that, always having little chatters in her brain was not her idea of a gift.
Avery had to hold on a laugh, as the girl pondered about what species Avery was. In some sick cruel world that Avery sometimes drifted into, she loved telling people what she was. Their heart beats usually rising, the blood pumping faster everywhere...it got vampires just a tiny bit excited. Think of a great orgasm...but for a vampire through blood. Pretty much that's what it was. Avery chuckled slightly still attempting to keep from out right laughing. "No you weren't rude, I was. I'm more of an animal than you are, I assure you that. I'm a vampire..." She let the sentence hang in the air. A smirk formed across her smooth features as the girl backed off somewhat. "Mean what words?"
Which words had Avery meant. Really she'd meant them all...but which words had the girl slightly concerned...for her own health possibly? Avery arched in eyebrow in curiosity quite intrigued as to which words the animal whisperer was referring to. "I think I meant all words I've said so far. If it was about you being a crazy, well darling we're all a little crazy here. Just chill kid." Avery had a small habit of calling people kid, children, and kiddos...no matter their age. She even called an 80 year old kiddo once...he just laughed at her.

"I'll be fine. Thanks though." she smiled back in reply as she walked around the girl and sat down in the chair. "My legs are sort of hurting, so I need to sit down. Sorry." she gave an apologetic smile, and nodded her head to the opposite seat in front of her.
"Im a vampire.."
"Huh." she grunted at that. Looking the girl over again, she then realized why she felt so weird around her. "No wonder why my hair is standing up." she rubbed her neck as she put a sly smile on her face. Rubbing her own, she stiffled a yawn. She's bene unpacking all day and exploring. She was bummed. Plus this school was sort of boring her at the moment. Stretching her fingers, she looked up as she called everyone here crazy. "Well, I hope not all of us are crazy. I'm Kjara. A new sophomore here. " she stuck out her hand to be shaken, hoping the scars around her wrists weren't all that noticible. " I'm a shapeshifter." she shrugged. "Figured I'd put that out, since you told me what you are."
She snorted mentally. What you are. isn't that weird? What, not who. It's how it goes these days. Blinking a couple of times, she forced the voices out of her head. " If I zone out again, smack me out of it or something. The People here want to get to know me, and I'm in no mood for it today." she didn't spend time explaining who the "People" were. It was most obvious that it was the animals around her.
