Dante hadn't really taken the fact that the two were only getting to know each other, in fact, Dante didn't know anything about the girl except she was a) pretty cute b) her name was gretchen and c) she bites, before calling the girl by the nickname he was pretty sure she would have used. Just minusing a syllable, yeah, thats usually how it worked, except in Dante's case; no-body called him 'Dan'. That was beneath him, although he would have loved to have been christened with a name that at least gave people ideas for nicknames.
Winking at the girl, and tapping his hand on his knee, Dante looked down at the bottle. Gretchen had had one drink, Dante had had three, and there was plenty left. He was hoping for a loooooooooooooong night, and he had exactly what was going to make it last longer in mind. "I have an idea." He said with a grin, before pausing to hear the girls comeback.
Laughing at the flirtatious remark he recieved, Dante couldn't believe his luck. Of all people, it was Gretchen, and she was basically asking him to love her. Okay, maybe that was stretching it a little, but she was hot, there was no denying that. Dante's next remark may have seemed sleazy, and maybe the girl would leave because of it, but he was going to push his luck with it; "You wanna help me get warmer?"
Shaking his head with a smirk, Dante looked back up at the girl. "So, anyways. Do you want to play a game? I was thinking we could play shots, or truth or dare? If you really want me to, I guess I'll play spin the bottle, but I don't really think it'll be that fun, do you?"

An idea? That certainly made Gretchen sit up just a little straighter. She pondered on what he had in mind. A walk around the park? Maybe. Some kind of game? Quite possibly. For them to get blindly drunk and cause some havoc? Hey, she wasn't ruling that out either. But really... the latter of these three ideas probably was the least likely to happen. After all, being labeled as a public nuisance wasn't really in Gretch's to-do list for this week. She liked the fact that she was accepted, and probably even admired a little on her social level. Well, that was what the teenager loved telling herself, anyway.
"You wanna help me get warmer?"
Haha. Gretchen couldn't honestly say she hadn't expected a comment in return similar to this. Hey, she had basically asked for it. Normally, the girl probably would have led on the guy a little - like this - only to hold back, leaving him to want more. But... there was something about Dante. She knew he had this kind of... drawing sense to him. Something, bubbling deep in the bit of her stomach, actually forced the teenager to accept his sleazy, though kind of cute-corny offer. He was pushing his luck, sure, but she was walking on ice all the while. "How could I deny your irresistible charm, Dan?" yep, she had just called him Dan, unaware, though not really concerned if it was actually a nick name the boy was called by or not.
So, to accompany her words, Gretch made the swift movement to scoot over next to him, clearing the snow beforehand. If it was one thing the girl didn't want, it was to have a wet butt for the rest of the night, especially considering she was wearing a rather expensive pair of jeans. And though she had given into his temptation, Gretchen didn't make the next move once she had sat down next to Dante, her side now feeling the warmth of his own for the first time. To be truthful, it made her stomach churn a little, her grin widening that much more. The teen gave him a side-long glance, her each locking with his, almost to prove that if he wanted to step up the temperature, then the girl could do just that. And... wow. Did he smell nice or what?
Finally getting around to listening to what he had in mind, Dante suggested a series of games that they could play. All the more things to do, in order to make their night more... memorable and fun, right? Saying that though, Gretchen couldn't help but roll her eyes slightly at his last game idea. Spin the bottle, with two people? If he had been serious, then that was pretty much a little hint that he wanted to hook up with her. Not that she would have minded though. Hey, Dante was gorgeous, at the least. "First two sound like fun. I think shots should come first, though. Then if we get around to truth or dare after wards... things might be a little more interesting." She shot him a mischievous grin, letting her hand deliberately brush past his knee before running through her silky hair. "As for spin the bottle, well. We need to have an empty bottle before playing, don't we?" [/blockquote]

Dante really didn't know what he was doing at this point. He was improvising, and doing a damn good job of it so far, there really was no point in changing his game plan. He knew that spin the bottle would have been a little bit stupid for just two people, but he was basically hinting to the girl that if he had the opportunity, he would kiss her. Of course he would though, look at her, she was freakin' hot. You didn't need to be sober to figure that one out, although the drunkenness has quickened the pace quite a bit. That was his first impression of the girl, and so far, it hadn't budged. This was going to be an awesome night.
Feeling the girl move closer to him, the temperature in Dante's cheeks rose quite briefly, but thanks to the dark, it couldn't have been noticed by the girl. "You know, calling me Dan isn't really helping you case. If I had one wish in the world, it would be to never be called Dan." He said, his eyes fixed on the girls own. The moonlight was hitting her eyes just right, and to be honest, Dante was experiencing something that he had never had before; Dante had a crush.
Putting his arm around the girls waist, Dante pulled her even closer, a mischievous, playful grin across his face. "Honey, you're gonna have to do a lot more than that. I mean, its snowing, not sunny." He said, knowing that his voice was something that he could use as a selling point. Girls usually swoon over his voice, the deep, rumble that it was. And this girl, she was fun, she was hot, she was exactly Dante's type. Resting his head on the girls shoulder, listening to her talk, Dante couldn't help but laugh. They were both pretty fast movers, although again, the alcohol quickened the pace.
"Sounds good, beetle." He said with a grin. Taking the lid of the bottle and pouring one more drink, Dante made contact with the girls hand, before bringing his gaze back to the girls. "Let's start things off, then shall we? Okay, just nice and easy first off." Dante said, dropping his eyes from the girls only momentarily, as he reached down to pick up the glass. "I'm not dating someone right now." He said, offering the drink to the girl. Okay, so this was working to get more knowledge about the girl too. [/blockquote]

"Oh really? I'll keep that in mind then. But to be quite honest, love, I don't think my case needs much help. I'm pretty sure it has a mind of its own." Gretch replied, keeping her eyes locked with his. She didn't so much mind if he didn't like being called Dan. There could be a couple of reason behind that, like for instance... It could be a nickname is parents call him, strictly for family usage. Or perhaps it was a common pet name from a last girlfriend or friend, whom know help bitter or depressing memories. Heck, he could have even just hated the name, like Gretchen hated Gretchy. The again, he might have even been serious. Well, for whatever the reason, the girl really wasn't fussed. If anything, her attention was more drawn to the way his arm felt around her waist.
Lets be honest here. Gretchen had dated, had flings with, and even had one night stands with her fair share of guys. The types who were sleazy, the types who were charming and kind, the types who were shy yet desperate, and the types who just knew that they were bloody fine as diamonds. So one could claim that she had her experience and would be able to handle a guy like Dante... but really, that wasn't true. Whether he was playing her for a fool, or acting real was a big mystery for Gretchen. But either way, she could feel herself being sucked into him; big time. But the good thing about it was that, despite whatever the truth, at least she was enjoying being with him. He wasn't so hitting on her obvious enough to make her want to bail, but nor was he sending her insane with mixed signals and subtle signs. He was just right.
Gretchen allowed herself to be pulled closer, letting her arm closest to Dante rest on his thigh and knee. The girl ran her hand up and down this length of his leg. Hey, it wasn't allot, but it was probably enough to keep him wanting more. The teen couldn't help but smile rather sheepishly when he called her beetle. Well, that was certainly a new pet name if she had ever heard one. Gretch then wanted as the boy poured another drink to start off their game. Listening to his words, the smile on her lips widened as she caught Dante's eye. The girl waved her free hand at his offer of the drink. This was followed by another down his thigh. "I'm a Sophomore." she then stated, also hoping to gather more information about Dante out of this.

"Oh, you mean, you think you've got me?" He said with a laugh, running his hand through his hair. He was trying to keep up with the whole Macho act, but it wasn't really going his way. He knew that he had this girl twirled around his finger; he was pretty sure that if he told her to fuck him, she'd fuck him. It was a good feeling, but he knew that it probably wasn't true. She was probably thinking the exact same thing, but it was cool to think nonetheless. He wasn't wrapped around her finger, not that he would disapprove of that. Of all fingers, he would want it to be hers, you know, if he had a choice. Then at least he could be proud that she chose him.
Dante didn't really know what type of girl that Gretchen was, but he felt that he had his fair share of knowledge. She didn't seem like the type of slutty whores that Dante usually got into bed with, as desperate as it sounded, just so he could have someone fuck him, but she was nice, and she didn't present herself badly. She was a pureblood, and that was always a good sign, for some reason Dante could imagine taking her home to his parents. That was something he could be very proud of, he was sure that there were a lot of people that would want to bag her for the rentals.
But Dante was a player, and he knew that this would be the type of girlfriend that wouldn't take any crap. Hey, as long as he was feeling the way he was feeling now, he would cheat, not if it would cause him to lose her. All of a sudden, with the thoughts racing through his mind, they all screeched to a halt - Why was he imagining Gretchen as being his girlfriend?
Shaking his head, reality flooding back to him like a ton of bricks, Dante felt her smaller shoulder against his. The warmth of their bodies collided, and a shiver was sent down the boys spine. Slightly shocked at the feeling of the girls hand across his thigh, Dante laughed, before passing on Gretchen's question. "I am." He said, smiling at the feel of the girl next to him. "I'm a virgin." He said, lifting the glass to his mouth and taking a mouthful. Putting the glass down on the ground next to him, Dante grabbed the bottle. It was easier, anyways. Moving his arm over, and placing the drink in front of her, instead of retracting his hand, Dante merely let it sit on the girls own. And to think he had wanted to be alone at first.

"Aw, honey, I know I've got you." She said boldly, confidently, her voice and facial expression both very flirtatious. Gretch knew that she was beginning to feel herself fall for Dante, but she really couldn't get the thought of if he was feeling the same way off of her mind. She should have known better, honestly. But it seemed that good company and well, straight spirits seemed to getting the better of her. No matter, though. If he was using her for a one night deal come and go, it was only one night, right? If this was the case, hopefully the girl would simply be able to wash her hands of him, and move on with her life.
But what if...? Gretchen was just concerned that if she did actually like Dante, and he got rid of her... would she be able to do the same thing? It was probably more easier said than done.
Lets just take the whole thing into consideration, though. If Dante was going to take this further than tonight, did the girl really want to? More so, should she? No doubt he was one of 'those' boys at school. You know, the kind who have the riches, the friends in high places, the girls lined up the block to merely brush past him. And here Gretchen was sitting with his arm around her, her hand sitting on his leg, sharing drinks. Well there you go, wasn't Miss Fitzroy a lucky girl?
To stop herself from getting ahead of things, the teenager focused her mind back on the current moment. What tomorrow brought would be dealt with.. tomorrow. She inclined her head slightly when he agreed to also being a Sophomore. "I'm a virgin." She'd drink to that. The girl felt Dante move to drink to her, which was followed by his hand resting over her own. Gretch gently turned over her hand, and slid it up until her fingertips were at level with his, and pressed against them slightly. Now, with her opposite hand, she lifted the glass to her lips, taking a drink to confined that she wasn't a virgin either. "Both my parents are alive." she said, barely having dropped the glass from her mouth, before taking another smaller sip. Now, gently, she set it back onto the ground, turning her gaze to Dante. Dante really hoped that he wasn't giving the wrong message out to Gretchen. Did she think that he just wanted a one night stand, no, for once in his life he just wanted to take things slow, and try a relationship for some reason. It was this thing that Gretchen had going for; she made even the hardcore party, already-played-the-field boys want to drop anything and give it a shot. To be honest, Dante just wanted to ask this girl out, not kiss her, not fuck her, nothing. Just ask her out on a date, god, Dante was good at woo-ing woment like that. He was an obsessive romantic when it came down to it, but no one had to know that.
Which is the reason that Dante used to keep this all to himself. It was just a phase, he was sure of that, but... did she just say that both of her parents were dead? Dante had been so absorbed in his thoughts that he had tuned out.
Taking his hand away from the girls, Dante reached it around the girls shoulders, pulling her in for a hug. "I'm sorry." He said, resting his head on the girls shoulder, breathing in and basking in the girls smell. "I didn't know. When did it happen?" He said, slipping his arm further down the girls back, towards her waist. He said, hoping that he hadn't totally killed the mood. "Sorry." He retreated, waving the offer. "I don't want to go on a date with you." He said, picking up the bottle and taking a sip. Hopefully the girl had realized that he was reverting back to the game. "I think I'm a little bit drunk." He whispered with a laugh. [/blockquote]

Yeah, alright, so maybe telling Dante that not both of her parents alive wasn't the best act, but at least she was being open. Kudos to the vodka. Generally that wasn't the sort of information she dished out to people - let alone guys she was flirting with two minutes previous - but in saying that, it wasn't a fact that she bottled up and refused to talk about. When she had said 'both my parents are alive', Gretch hadn't actually realized the ambiguous meaning it. Perhaps she should have said 'my mother is alive'. Ah, it was too late for that, but she could shed some light on the situation, as Dante asked for it.
The fact was, she didn't actually feel hesitant when thinking about what to say. It was strange, but within this hour talking to the boy, the girl had built up this sense of... no bull shit kind of feeling to wards him. She leaned into the hug, dipping her head against his shoulder for a moment, taking in the feeling and holding it until she sat back up to answer. "It's been about... four years? But don't worry about it, still got dad and all." she mentioned, wanting to clear up that it had only been her mum. It did hurt, but that was an old wound well healed, and Gretchen wasn't all that fond on ripping it open. Not in a drunken stage when she might burst into hysterics, either. Though, on the plus side, she did learn that Dante did have both his folks around, which was nice to know, for what it was worth.
At his next turn at the game, Gretch managed a laugh as she added quickly. "And I don't want to go on a date with you." before raining the remainder of the glass. The girl managed to quirk her head a little, locking her gaze with the boys. "That makes two of us." she purred, giving him a small wink. And it was true, too. The girl could feel the effects of the alcohol swirling around in her stomach, making her reflexes jittery, her chest and head feel lighter. It was a nice feeling, though. Probably teetering between the end of tipsy, and the beginning of drunk. In all, it was better to know that Dante was willing to voice his personal status, knowing now that he was going to be just as out of it as she was at this stage. So... on with the game? "Alright. I have a twin." And there the bottle stayed on the ground

Dante could have easily fallen asleep right there and then. He wasn't incredibly drunk, no, but he had had his amount and his day had been pretty packed. All through his meeting with Gretchen, he had yawned time and time again, and to be honest, it was getting annoying. Gretchen must have thought that he thought she was boring or something, but that was not the case. He was just really, really, really tired. Dante really wanted to stay and learn more about Gretchen however; he would just have to fight the yawns and keep it together.
Okay, so the boy wasn't exactly drunk; he was tipsy. It took a bit more alcohol for Dante to actually feel the effects more, he had been smashed before so it wasn't his first time. It was weird, but he felt that Gretchen was in the same position as him, for some unapparent reason. "Still, losing your mother." Dante voiced deeply, resting his arm on the closest of the girl's shoulder. The boy wasn't exactly close to her mother, that bloodtraitor, but still, it was nice to have her in his life. She sent care packages, and gave plenty of lollies, that was good enough.
Shaking his head, Dante passed the offer to drink. "Just me." He said with a laugh, a cocky smile upon his face. "I hate music." He said, lifting the bottle up to his lips, letting a mouthful slip in. [/blockquote]

Even though she had noted on Dante yawning more than a few times during their time together, Gretchen wasn't taking much notice of it. Initially, she had thought herself to be a bit boring, but at this point in time... it was fairly obvious that she wasn't. Well, the fact was that he continued to talk, ask questions, and play the game. That was enough evidence to prove that at least the teenager wasn't totally lame and dorkish. As much as Gretch would have loved to say she knew she was Dante type, and had him totally hooked - she just couldn't claim that. She would have enjoyed being able to blindly claim that she could see herself dating him some day, and fitting his personality... that just wasn't possible. Not yet, anyway.
She accepted his statement with a mere nod at first. It was only after the silence was thickened with seconds, that Gretchen spoke again. "I guess you just have to make do with what you've got." the girl confined in him, her chin now resting on Dante's arm as she peered over it to look at him. Okay - she had to admit it - even if he was full of shit and whether this was a one-off thing or not... it was so easy to talk to him, to trust him. And for all the Fitzroy girl knew, that could be one fucking false sense of security.
He loved music. Oh, god help her now. If Gretchen was a sucker for any type of guy... it would have to be musicians, or music-lovers. She couldn't keep a straight face, though, grinning at him now. "I don't have super human sense." she stated, before taking the bottle and sipping it to correct her comment. [/blockquote]
